Fans of fast Fords will be able to bid on a 1985 Ford Sierra XR8 (£8000-£10,000). As one of only 250 ever made, this South African import will surely prove a smart buy. There are plenty of hot-hatches going under the hammer, including a 1987 Fiat Strada Abarth 130TC - believed to be one of just five UK road registered examples. -
Ferrari 400 Superamerica set to make £2.5m at auction 20 Jan 2016 (News)
Another Alfa at the auction a Giulia Tubolare Zagato (TZ), built in 1965. First introduced at the 1963 FISA Monza Cup, TZs competed in the most important races of the era – from Sebring, Le Mans, Targa Florio and the Nürburgring – seeing class wins and podium finishes. Named for its tubular space-frame chassis and iconic aluminium Zagato coachwork, it’s believed that only 100 examples were built between 1963 and 1967. -

In fairness it’s not actually that cynical. There’s only a 0.2-second difference between the two cars when it comes to the all-important 0-62mph sprint (6.2 seconds against six dead), but the higher-powered car has a mechanical limited slip differential which should make it handle significantly better, plus bigger and meatier brakes, deeper bucket seats and a few 270-specific options. -
Two 1963 E-Type Roadsters in Historics 6th June Auction 9 May 2015 (News)
The more original car in Opalescent Golden Sand is LHD, originally purchased in New York and left in storage for around 25 years after its clutch failed at 50,000 miles. It was rescued and re-imported to the UK in 2009, after which it underwent comprehensive recommissioning and has been used regularly since. Original features as well as the paint include Operating Maintenance and Service manual, original jack, hammer, original hood bag, even original body tags and factory crayon markings. -

One-in-five drivers leaves oil checks too late 1 Jul 2013 (News)
Research conducted on behalf of engine oil manufacturer Mobil 1 shows that one in five drivers don’t check their oil until prompted by a low oil level warning. Fair enough, 80% manage, but it’s tremendously important to regularly check oil levels and it’s not difficult. Furthermore, when it comes to actually checking oil more than half (51.6%) of drivers let someone else do the job, whether that be a friend, relative or someone at a garage. 60.2% of respondents to the survey said they had their oil changed once a month at most, while 45.7% didn’t know what the recommended oil change interval for their car was. -

KIA Builds 1,000,000 Cars in Slovakia 26 Jan 2012 (News)

The factory now also produces Sportage and Venga. "Kia Motors Slovakia has achieved an important milestone in its history with the production of the millionth car. We decided to donate it to an organisation which will bring pleasure to children during their stay in hospitals," said Eek-Hee Lee, President and CEO of Kia Motors Slovakia. Kia Motors Slovakia recorded a 10% year-on-year increase in car production and a 12% year-on-year increase in engine production during 2011, when it produced more than 252,000 cars and 359,000 engines. -
