  • peugeot 106 diesel leak 17 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Hi, I have a diesel N reg Peugeot 106. Starting has been getting gradually worse up to a point where it requires priming every time to start now. Further investigation has led me to a diesel leak above the fuel filter housing.

  • I accidentally put petrol in my diesel tank 25 Mar 2012 (Ask HJ)

  • Vauxhall Corsa B (1993 - 2000) - 1998 1.7 Rough running diesel. 16 Jun 2008 (Forum)
The D.I.L. 's Corsa 1.7 diesel has started to run rough, similar to having a missing plug. It was refuelled with fresh diesel, the receipt says so. I drove it after she used it and for me it ran OK. The local garage, not being a diesel specialist, looked at the fuel for water contamination and said it was fine but changed the fuel filter just as a precaution.
  • Did biofuel cause my Citroen DS3 to break down? 4 May 2013 (Ask HJ)

  • Skoda Octavia II (2004 - ) - Millers diesel power ECOMAX 21 Aug 2009 (Forum)
It is the 1.9 105bhp PD engine, used it before on old Mondy never saw any difference, but would have needed a strip down to see if any cleaner inside. As all manufacurers, VAG do not recommend any fuel additives, but Millers is well respected in diesel circles. I normally use Shell fuel, and this would work out cheaper than their premium diesel. Or is it snake oil? I don't mind spending a little more if it helps the longevity of the car.

  • Treating your car well - fueling 23 Sep 2007 (Forum)
I was wondering what peoples oppinions are on fueling up your car. I have limited knowledge but i see fueling your car with good fuel as beneficial in lots of way. I admit i have limited knowledge but surely putting good fuel in will help prevent long term damage or wear and tear on the mechanics; especially in diesels.

  • Fading Diesel 8 Apr 2002 (Forum)

  • Does my Peugeot 407 really need diesel fuel additive? 9 Sep 2010 (Ask HJ)

  • Sunflower or vegetable oil 20 Aug 2006 (Forum)
Having heard you can use chip fat oil as a substitute for diesel fuel, I was wondering whether you could use new sunflower oil or new vegetable oil? Is veg oil better to use than sunflower oil? Also, can it damage the engine using this as a fuel. Finally, can one mix the diesel with the sunflower/ veg oil safely?
  • Diesel MPG 31 May 2002 (Forum)
I own a 1996 306 diesel and although I drive it hard, am not impressed by the fuel consumption compared to friends of mine who make statements such as "I can get 700 miles from a tank in my one etc etc..." I rarely get much more than 400-450 miles from my tank but reckon I should get more.
