Mondeo Verona \'97.88k. 4 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Hi all, When I start off from \'cold\' in the morning, the first 50 yds it runs ok, then I have a left turn at a junction. For the next 30 yds or so it seems starved of petrol and plays up a bit, after that no bother, goes great. Once had this years ago on an old Ford pop. Anyone any ideas,or had similar problem? -

Opinion on Fiat Coupe 6 May 2003 (Forum)
But that Fiat badge on the front often conjures up thoughts of unreliability and questionable build quality? What are the views of this car? Too high running costs to justify it?s purchase? Is the chassis really that good? Are the non-turbo 16v and 20v worth considering? -
Electric Cars 20 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Just wondered as we do a lot of journies under 2 miles which is not good for our car, but I cant afford to run another car unless there are some concessions. -
Xantia cooling 17 Feb 2003 (Forum)
The engine in my 1.9 diesel Xantia (non turbo)is running hot, according to the temp gauge, but I am not getting any heat from the heater. I have recently topped up the header tank, do I need to bleed the system to get rid of any air gaps. The thermostat seems to be working but only the right hand side of the raditor is getting warm. -

Deissal motorbike 31 Dec 2002 (Forum)
At last, for two-wheeled commuters, a motorbike designed to run on diezall, www.marineturbine.com/superbike Performance would be adequate in town, might be pushed to stay with a white van or 318i on the M25. Is deissil the new kerosene? And what about paraffin? -

See car by car breakdown. If you have one of these cars make sure the remedial work is done before the warranty runs out. (Too late for 99% in the case of the throttle butterfuly.) HJ -
Volvo 440 Whistling 7 Sep 2001 (Forum)
The noise comes whilst accelerating and continues until the engine warms up (5 to 10 mintes), it then stops and the car runs normally whilst the engine is warm. Any ideas? -
MOT Emisions 28 Jun 2001 (Forum)
I have a Rover 820 Vitesse turbo and I want to fit a stainless system with cat bypass pipe (my cat is dead anyway, it filled up with oil when the turbo let go). Will the engine management and oxygen sensor still run the engine clean enough to meet the regs or can it be tuned to do so? -
Cutting-out Golf GTi 4 May 2001 (Forum)
A colleague poses a question about her P-reg. VW Golf GTi 8-valve. It cold-starts normally, but after running for 3-5 minutes, the engine cuts out, and she then has to wait 3-6 minutes before it will restart. Her VAG garage replaced the ECU and speed sensor, but the fault persists. Has anyone any ideas? -
Thermostat fluctuation 25 Mar 2001 (Forum)
My 91H 205 D turbo has just had a third cambelt and a coolant change. I thought I noticed temp. fluctuations before, but it is now obvious that during a long run, once the thermostat opens (after 5-6 miles) the temp. continues to cycle up and down approx. every 40-50 seconds. Does this indicate that the thermostat is on the way out, or is it a quirk in the sender or the gauge? -
re diesel or petrol 21-02-01(ashley) 27 Feb 2001 (Forum)
for a car that is rated at 50+mpg.The only way you can work out the fuel consumption correctly is by filling the tank to the brim, running it to nearly empty, filling it again and then doing your sums as has been already mentioned by H.J. -
Ford Galaxy - Ford Galaxy 1.6T Ecoboost MPG 11 Aug 2024 (Forum)
Looking to possibly buy a 2012 Ford Galaxy 1.6T Ecoboost and was wondering what your average MPG was around town and on a run. Obviously the site says 35mpg but would like some more in depth opinions. I was looking at the 2.0tdci but with bristols new emissions zone I thought it might be better to get a petrol. -
BMW 1 Series Convertible - Mot fail due to Lambda reading 8.199 26 Apr 2024 (Forum)
Car failed mot because lambda reading is 8.199. It's been running fine and fuel consumption normal. Any ideas what could be the cause? Halfords who did the mot wouldn't even look at it. Told me I needed to go to bmw dealership but it's going into a local garage.
