  Status Stuff dear, but P/Xs Cheap at Auction Today 15 Jan 2003 (News)
  Today, a pair of 36k mile 2001Y 1.4S models sold for £5,800 and £5,825, while a 24k mile 2001Y 1.6 automatic made £6,900. Best buy of the day to my mind, though, was a 28k mile 2001Y Volvo S60 2.4T 200bhp Geartronic auto, which went to a smart buyer for just £11,200. Worst was an 82k 2000V Golf GTi 1.8T which sold for £7,200.

  Wondering what winter’s going to be like? How about a 69,000 mile 98R Subaru Legacy 2.5 Outback automatic for £5,750. Against these lows, ex-fleet Golfs were holding their own. A 44k mile unwarranted 88V 2.0GTi 5-door in silver sold for £8,250 and a 47k mile warranted met red 2000W GTi 1.8T 5-door sold for £9,700.

  So was £8,775 for a 55,000 mile 2000W Passat TDI SE badged as a 115 but described as a 90. So was £14,200 for a 33,000 mile 2000W Lexus IS200 S automatic. So was £11,850 for an old shape 42,000 mile 99V Galaxy Ghia TDI 110. The fifth car in the catalogue showed a bit, but not a lot, of relief. It was a 114,000 mile 98R Voyager 2.0SE manual and it sold for £5,625.

  Maserati Cambiocorsa Spyder Arrives 17 Nov 2001 (News)
  Standard equipment on the Maserati Spyder includes 18-inch 15-spoke alloy wheels, electronic traction control, a powerful Bosch 5.3 anti-lock braking system and a fully automatic powered hood in lightweight fabric, which folds into a separate compartment with no intrusion on boot space. Inside, the Spyder has a full leather interior, air conditioning, remote central locking, powered seats with two memory settings on the driver's side, power lumbar seat adjustment and an electronic 'info centre' with a 5.8-inch colour display for climate, audio and trip computer controls.

  Golf and Bora get PD 130 engine 20 Jun 2001 (News)
  The 130 TDI PD engine features a six-speed manual gearbox, and in the Golf Estate and Bora, is also available with the option of a five speed Tiptronic automatic. To handle the extra power the PD unit has been greatly altered. Injectors are modified to increase the speed with which fuel enters the combustion chamber and the geometry of the injector apertures has also been changed.

    Last chance saloon We currently drive a 2008 SAAB 9-3 1,998cc petrol automatic Vector Sport 4-door saloon and are thinking of replacing this soon, as we are concerned that, given time, spare parts may become difficult to obtain. We like the comfort and the capability of quick acceleration at roundabouts, etc., as well as space for my golf clubs and wish to stay automatic.

  I can understand what you are saying but I drove in the same manner in my previous car a 1999 Honda Accord Type V automatic hatchback, which I had for 13 years, and in a Rover automatic before that, without having a problem. It does appear that the BMW seat is the main cause of my difficulty. When you take up an ideal sitting position in the BMW there is a slight gap between your back and the seat so when you relax into the seat your back takes up a slight convex curve.

    Stars of the sale are, of course the three Aston Martins: a DB4, a DB5 manual and a DB6 Volante automatic. The estimate for the DB6 Volante is a breathtaking £590,000 to £670,000, but the car looks 100% so it will be interesting to see if it makes its money. Two McClaren Mercedes SLRs feature: a 2005 coupe estimated at £175,000 to £195,000and a 2008 roadster at £240,000 to £290,000.

  . ‘Intelligent’ headlamps that angled with the steering, adaptive cruise control and a six-speed automatic transmission - the first saloon car in the world to have one, believe it or not. The E65, then, was an innovator and also a car that was a bold step for such a traditionally conservative manufacturer, criteria that bode well for its future classic potential.

  .  As well as five-speed manual gearboxes across the range, the 60SX model was also offered with a CVT automatic transmission, in-line with other small cars of the time that were embracing the technology, such as the Ford Fiesta, Rover Metro and Nissan Micra.  In 1995, a Sporting model appeared, powered by a 1.6-litre 88bhp engine, supplanted by the 85bhp 1.2-litre 16v unit from the 85SX in 1997.

  Last Aston Martin DBS Ever Built Found in a Barn 2 Mar 2015 (News)
  It underwent minor servicing in 1990, for which there are detailed service invoices.   The car has an automatic gearbox, Waso steering lock and Voxon stereo It was purchased by an Aston Martin Enthusiast, Mr. Bass Senior (who was also the proud owner of one of the very rare DBS3s) in 1975 from Guy Salmon in Thames Ditton and has remained in the family ever since. 

   It has an odometer reading of just over 40,000 miles, and is estimated at £25,000 - £40,000.

  With the ix35 FCEV you pop the lever in ‘Drive’ and then head off like you would in any automatic, albeit with no engine noise at all – just the whir of the air-conditioner. Unfortunately, FCEVs are currently expensive to produce, costing significantly more than battery EVs. As a result the first batch of ix35 FCEVs will be operated by fleets, which will lease the cars from Hyundai.

List price new is £37,999 – but after 539 miles this ex-demo on an 11-plate is down to £31,995 including the first three services. Audi TTRS Roadster The TTRS is a tremendously quick machine.

  It’s also had a suspension and brake system overhaul, and comes with a full service history. It’s an automatic, though, which might dull the sportiness for some. BMW Z1 - £29,995 Just 8,000 Z1s were made by BMW in the late 1980s and almost all of them were sold in the German market, so finding one for sale in the UK is difficult at best, and if the exceptionally low mileage figure of 8900 is accurate on this listing it’s likely to be one of the neatest examples around. 170 horsepower comes from a 2.5-litre straight-six, so performance is brisk and matches the outstanding looks.

  The 1600 Coupe – also finished in red - realised £6,500. The 1990 BMW 316i Automatic had remained in the hands of its company chairman owner from new, covering just 9,490 miles in that time. Finished in white with grey/ blue cloth interior trim, the car was in totally original condition and sold for £3,100.

  Advanced Telematics for 30,000 BMWs in 2008 1 Feb 2008 (News)
  If the driver is involved in a severe incident and the airbag is deployed, the eCall element of BMW ConnectedDrive takes over and automatically instigates contact with the 999 emergency services. If the driver is incapacitated and thus the operator receives no feedback, the car has already sent the navigation co-ordinates of the location using the embedded SIM card to the emergency services call centre for help to be dispatched.
