  • Toyota Previa (2000 - 2007) - Toyota Previa replacement 29 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Today, passing Jemca (big franchised Toyota dealer in North London) I saw a row of brand new 58-reg Estimas. Not the grey import skinny old shape Previas much favoured by mini-cabbers, but an all new shape. Nothing listed on Toyota's web-site though. Does anyone else know anything?
  • Trailer tyres 25 Jan 2009 (Forum)
My trailer is in need of some new tyres - it has mini hubs on which originally had 10" wheels - I have some 12" metro wheels and tyres on it now but I have spent this afternoon going through all the tyre suppliers and no one came up with any 165/65 x12 -- are they a discontinued size - if not does anyone know where I can get some from -- I dare say my local tyre depot would be able to source some but it would be handy to have an idea on price.
  • My town the daftest for 'road furniture' ? 18 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Dual carriageways with silly islands that turn it into a single lane, humps that serve no purpose at all, raods half blocked with give way to on coming traffic signs, entrances to roads narrowed so that one going out has to wait for the one coming in. Silly little mini roundabouts, I could go on and on, our roads here are being systematically degraded so the place resembles an obstacle course.
  • Reliability:Citroen tops Europe 26 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Just reading though the HJ story on Warranty Direct's survey - certainly surprised me - Citroen/Peugoet trounes all (but one - Mini) the European car makers for reliability judged via WD's claim stats. Also surprising to see Skoda in a lowly 32nd place, behind Jaguar - weren't Skoda the new wunderkinds just a couple years ago?
  • Design 7 Sep 2006 (Forum)
I don't want to start criticising a car before comes on to the market, but...The pictures of the new MINI Traveller I saw in this week's AutoExpress had me aghast (well almost). Mainly as regards the number and thickness of pillars between the body and roof - a thick A, a B at the front of the rear door, a C to the trailing edge of the rear door, a D where you normally expect a D, and finally an E where the two tailgate doors meet.
  • Small 4 seat cabrio? 7 Jun 2006 (Forum)
A mate has offered to lend me his MINI cabio for a few days, as his back hurts, so he is driving his Mondeo. I was thinking...I fancy a small, cheap four seat convertible. Apart from a 2CV and an old Beetle or even an old Golf cabrio, what else (please no Escorts or Astras, I would prefer some style and less car)?
  • Dealing with Dealers (Cont.... 5 Feb 2005 (Forum)
I have read with some dismay the posts regarding main dealers of most types. My son wants to change his MG ZR for a Mini Cooper S. Can anyone advise tactics? We were abused by the Rover dealer 18 months ago and bought from JamJar and last summer a Renault dealer was as bad as they come. The Saturday telegraph recently suggested actually selling to a used car dealer to keep the purchase as a separate transaction.
  • Can Tape Players Be Fixed? 16 Oct 2003 (Forum)
It does, eventually, settle down in mid-tape. (don't laugh - I only discovered the benefits of CDs a few years ago..and now it's Mini-disks and DVDs..) Are there belts and things that wear and can be changed, or should I treat myself to a new device? I have seen drive belts in the Maplin book. Are they worth changing, and is it easy?
  • Personalised plates 20 Sep 2002 (Forum)
In another thread L'escargot mentioned the driver of a Mini Cooper who he thought had been 'nabbed' for having plates which had been 'tweaked' to read like her name. I'm sure most of us have seen similar plates where 7's are made to look like T's and black dots used to make 2 different letters look like a single different letter.
  • Golf MK2 window glass 19 Mar 2002 (Forum)
Does anyone know if there's a way of telling what colour tint I have on the glass, other than the not very scientific looking at it and guessing ? Nothing bar my mini maglite torch was nicked thankfully.
  • BMW X3 - Dealer unable to fix car 30 Jun 2022 (Forum)
We raised this as an issue within the 12 months warranty, he sent the car back to the garage he’d used to have the panel replaced and they in turn sent the car to mini as they were unable to fix the issue. This hasp now been rumbling on for a good a few months with mini needing to contact their technical team in Germany. Needless to say at 6 months pregnant I’m losing my patience.
  • how best to insure ?? 11 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Have had my clean licence for over 20 years - will be 40 in 2 weeks . Anybody out there got a clue how to best insure this ' fleet ' . The classics apart from the Mini cost me £250 a year fully comp. Have not had a claim for over 15 years ?? Is there a policy to get the Shogun covered as a kind of Classic ? it only needs to be TPFT or even 3rd party only ..

  • Bank the money or buy a sports car? 13 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Hi, Im 20 and currently have a Mini Cooper S and I am in the process of changing jobs, and as a consiquence get a company car. I work in the car trade so will get a Golf 2.0GT 140 as my company car so there is no point in keeping the Cooper S.
  • JLR - Heated windscreens 14 Feb 2022 (Forum)
Re the question on main page about heated windscreens and the reply about Ford. In the sixties LR had them as an option and the Monte Carlo Mini's used them also (check out the pictures). I suspect Ford acquired the patent when they owned LR , That's why the first mainstream manufacturers to offer them were Ford; LR and Volvo who they also owned.
  • ECS Tuning Error 1 Jul 2019 (Forum)
In my experience, I don't believe this is a good business practice because I didn't make the error. Please have a great and safe day in your Minis.

At the moment I'm caught between: • Mercedes C220 CDI, • Mercedes CLK 270 CDI, • Mercedes C180 Kompressor, • Audi TT 180/225, • Alfa GT, • Toyota Celica 1.8 VVT-i, • BMW 320 CD, • BMW 320 Ci, • Volvo C30 R-Design, • Mazda MX5 1.8i, Any help with positives and negatives would be appreciated.
  • Mercedes-Benz A-Class - Goodused car option? 23 Oct 2014 (Forum)
logcode=p There's a few on Autotrader around the same age and price, and was just wondering if they could be recommened as a first car, particualrly as they're similarly priced to 107s and other super minis. Pros and cons?
  • Nissan Micra K11 2001 - Broken drop link: 40 quid quote 16 Feb 2011 (Forum)
I took my car into KwikFit for an oil + filter change. Although 40 quid seemed a bit steep, I noticed that they had done a "mini MOT" on the vehicle and tested the alternator, battery, tyres etc. They noticed a defective rear brake light. They also noticed a broken drop link and quoted 39.95 to fix this. * Is this a good price?
