Renault Espace Noise 20 Dec 2003 (Forum)
I've got a Espace 2.2Dt, with 57k mile on the clock ,which has over the last couple of days developed a hum noise from the engine bay. It occurs while driving and gets louder with speed, and disappears at low revs/speeds. It appears to be at its loudest at about 65-70mph. It goes when the clutch is pressed in, so as such I can't get it to happen of the drive to aid me locate it. -

Insuring 2 cars on same policy 14 Dec 2003 (Forum)
I have a fully comp. insurance policy for my first car. I own a 2nd car, and have been told by my insurance company I can drive my 2nd car, or any other car third party. I have phoned 3 times to check this and they are 100% convinced it\'s fine for my to drive my second car third party even though there is no other insurance covering it. -

Pug 306 Engine cutting out! 8 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Hi Everyone, I have a pug 306 1.4 XN (126,000 miles) The problem is that after about 5 minutes of driving the engine will just cut out. It has happened 3 or 4 times now and can happen at anytime even when just driving along the motorway (i.e. not just slowing down for a round about). The car will then not start for about 1 minute (guess it is flooded). -

Merc CLK. Mondeo with a badge 13 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Just had a drive of my mates brand new £35,000 Merc CLK. It's a nice car with lots of fancy gadgets and electric motors. However, it drives no better than a mondeo and the interior trim feels flimsy and is not a patch on the solid feel my MGZT has. -
10 Seater? 25 Sep 2003 (Forum)
(I was pretty sure I already posted this but couldn't find it so please forgive me if you see it twice) My family and I are planning on touring Europe with some friends from America. We want to drive around Europe, the problem? There will be 10 of us all together. The plan is to buy the vechile then sell it afterwards. Are there any MPV's\Limos\mini buses\caravanettes, which would be comfortable for a few weeks of driving for 10 people + luggage? -
Supermarket car parks ?? 26 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Some considerable time ago, a thread was running about the legal situation when driving in a Supermarket car park, as to the question of if the rules of the road apply. Though there was considerable response to the posting, the question was not resolved. I would wish to ask again, Do the rules of the road apply when driving in a carpark which is private (not adopted public highway) but to which the public have access? -
Asleep at the wheel 28 May 2003 (Forum)
M25 on Sat I was driving in the inside lane at about 65mph - only about an hour's drive. I felt a bit sleepy so I turned up the aircon and the radio. Next thing I knew I was on the hard shoulder having been woken-up by the rumble strips. -
Let the good times roll 4 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Following on from teabelly's thread about best motoring moments, what's everyones favourite motoring moment(s)? Mine? a) Realising that the car hire firm had screwed up the booking for a Laguna and I'd be driving a 3.0V6 Avantime around the amazing roads of Corsica for a week, and driving that week b) Cruising around Newcastle in a brand new Merc E-class when my own car was a Maestro, listening to Nat King Cole "There may be trouble ahead" Probably many more but that'll do to start with. -
'85 golf gti starting trouble 24 Feb 2003 (Forum)
I started driving the golf after a few months off the road and within a couple of days the engine was playing up. It starts but within 5-10 seconds it cuts out. Eventually the engine would start and when driving it seemed fine. -
more roadworks 28 Jan 2003 (Forum)
Now, seeing how so many cars seem to drive on cycle lanes, and coupled with the fact that cyclists will also be forced off the pavements and onto the cycle lanes, this seems to me an accident waiting to happen. HF -

Totally unimpressed so didn't even bother with a test drive. -
Fiat punto at high (ish) speeds 3 Feb 2002 (Forum)
My wife drives a Fait Punto, Y reg, with about 3500 miles on the clock. Recently we have found that when she drives at about 70mph on the motorway the car occasionally appears to be out of control. The effect is something like being blown to the left by a sudden gust of wind but happens even on windless days. -
Consultants? 1 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Theory probably has some merit but you gotta be suspious of these alleged experts as I'm sure these people will be in a position to absorb any extra costs as they drive past the plebs waiting for a mythical bus/train to turn up. I know, don't smile while you drive and they won't think you're having any fun. -
BMW 523 electrical problem 6 Jan 2002 (Forum)
Hes been having a few problems with the battery going flat when left for extended periods of time (=>3/4days). Its not due to driving short distances as he drives to carlisle and back from nottingham each week. He has had a brand new BMW battery and the problem still persists. It seems to me like there is some kind of grounding happening somewhere when the ignition is off. -
Cavalier 1.7TD Weird Sound 22 May 2001 (Forum)
I have a 94 Cavalier 1.7TD - a couple of day ago it developed a weird sound from the back passenger side corner. When driving along it sounds like something compressing/decompressing (i.e a dual sound compress/decompress as per a bicycle pump). It will only happen maybe 3/4 times in a half hour drive, but when parked up I cant replicate the noise by 'bouncing' the car. -
