Traffic Violation in Italian Rental Car 7 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I know the ticket is not for illegal parking as we parked in a private car park. It also can't be for speeding as Florence isn't exactly know for its free flowing traffic! So, I must have contravened a traffic signal or something. Now, I have a couple of questions, if anyone would like to comment/answer: 1) Does anyone agree that the term 'Italian Traffic Regulations' is a bit ironic?! -

first impressions of my new Volvo XC60 D4 Auto 19 Apr 2017 (Forum)
Satnav is simple to use and offers traffic reports and speed camera warnings. Cruise control is fine but I am not a fan really. Collision Avoidance works up to 17mph so you don't mow down people in car parks, over that it's up to you! Seats are very comfortable and there is lots of storage. The rear seats folded flat for when I collected some gardening supplies and the remotely operated tailgate is a godsend when carrying things. -

penalty notice 28 Jan 2023 (Forum)
However, in December 2022 a penalty notice was placed on my car for not being registered and entitled to use the car park. When I bought this to the attention of my manager, he said that he would look into it. He came back a few days later with the answer that "My registration number had been entered wrongly, but ignore any proceeding action" A letter eventually arrived in January regarding illegal parking and for me to pay a £100 fine. -

Car park bump - being charged 26 Sep 2012 (Forum)
I am gutted as I am a very careful driver, driving for 11 years and never had a single accident or speeding fine. I was reversing out of my car parking space uphill at a very cramped car park at a tesco express when I accidentally bumped the car parked behind me. My sister in law, who was also parked in the car park, got out of her car to see if there was any damage. -
private parking- new law against motorists!!! 5 May 2011 (Forum)
Proposed new legislation will remove the protection under civil law we all now enjoy against the private parking parasites. Our own Government intend to remove this protection and replace it with new laws, under which the private parking parasites will be able to pursue the registered keeper and force them to reveal the driver, or face the fine themselves. -
2 parking tickets for the same offence in 24 hrs. 23 Mar 2011 (Forum)
I've just come back from London, overnight I parked in Lambeth and parked in a space which I'd been told by the person I was with was a mon-fri zone as it was a saturday night this would have been fine. Unfortunately I got back to the car on Sunday to discover to my horror the car had been ticketed. -
Interesting experience at shopping centre 13 Dec 2007 (Forum)
The van had hazards on, and I noticed through the back windows that there were two cameras that appeared to have three lenses each aimed at the access road. When I'd parked I approached a police mobile unit sat in the carpark for the public to access and asked the officers if the van was anything to do with them. They said it was a traffic operation of some sort, so I asked why it was parked in such an inappropriate place and using hazards in a way that it shouldn't. -
Road Manners 10 May 2001 (Forum)
I think driving habits have become a pretty accurate barometer of the lowering of social politeness generally in the UK. See the proliferation of road rage. Here's a fine example, which happened to me this morning: Appointment at the doctor for my daughter, car park full, one parking space being vacated, driver taking ages, me waiting patiently (no pun intended), obviously going to take his place. -
Parking Ticket - UPDATE 15 Nov 2010 (Forum)
Below is a quick recap of the original post: I recently received a parking ticket for an offence that I believe I did not commit. My vehicle was parked in a residents parking bay where non-residents are granted a 2 hour parking window with a further no return within 2 hour restriction (hope that makes sense). -

There have been a few threads concerning parking tickets lately, so when i came across this "snippet" in the AOL Money section i thought it may provide a starting point if you are thinking you have been unjustly done. Parking tickets So many local authorities now benefit from money raised by parking tickets that the financial incentive to issue tickets can be strong. -
