Unique Ford Escort Mexico in Historics 7th July Classic Car Auction 28 Jun 2018 (News)
It was strengthened and used by Fords's AVO as a back-up car for the the 1973 East Africa Safari Rally that was ignominiously dominated by Peugeot while the Fords all retired. The car was then bought by Ford employee John Aedy, together with a Mk 1 RS2000 bodyshell and returned to standard Mexico specification with the original 1,600cc cross-flow engine refitted and the car converted to right hand drive to use as a daily driver The Mexico left the Aedy family in 1988. it surfaced again in 1998 and was rebuilt retaining the original block bored out to 1,760cc with an unleaded head and twin Weber 40DCOE carburettors producing around 150HP. Presented in superb condition throughout, the car is offered with restoration invoices and a V5C registration document. -
Bentley triumphs in Road to Saigon endurance rally 6 Mar 2018 (News)
The Spirit of the Rally award went to Russell Jordan and Bill Crossan for their efforts in the 1967 Austin Healey 3000 (pictured above) while the Against all Odds award was taken by Adrian Hodgson and Eric Sia in the 1975 Peugeot 504 Ti for battling their way back into the rally after having major mechanical issues that saw them detour to Kuala Lumpur. The competitors were joined at the half-way point by four novice crews of famous faces, working with Optomen Television and BBC Two for a documentary to be aired later in 2018. -
Europcar launches long term rental scheme 7 Jun 2017 (News)
For a longer rental deal, Europcar claims that a Peugeot 208 can be hired up to 24 months and 60,000 miles for a total of £8470 (£353 a month). The driver would simply renew the 84 day rental and hand back the car when they no longer need it. -
Royal route for London to Brighton 23 Sep 2014 (News)
The oldest car on the event is a circa 1888 Truchutet – a 4hp open tonneau. Famous names pack the entry list: Benz, Daimler, Vauxhall, Peugeot and Renault. Spectators will be able to see steam-powered cars, electric cars, three-wheelers as well as petrol-powered four-wheelers. The London to Brighton is the world’s longest running motoring event. -

And a 10k mile 03 reg Rover 75 2.0CDT Classic was well worth a punt at a top provisional bid of just £9,700. Even Jaguar X Type prices are starting to get into proportion with a 31k mile 2001Y 2.5 auto sold for £12,600. -
Used Prices Continue To Rise 9 May 2003 (News)
Predictably, a 31k mile BMW 320D SE sold for a hefty £12,600. A 55k unwarranted 99V Peugeot 306 GTi-6 with a blowing exhaust sold for £5,100. Even a 12k mile 2000W FIAT Seicento Sporting managed all of £2,950. So not really a day for bargain hunters, then. But if you want a car for less than rapidly rising retail money, auctions remain the place to go. -
