Wheelchairs and small hatchbacks 4 Nov 2003 (Forum)
I want a "self propelling one" (large rear wheels) if possible. I know they all claim to knock down for easy storage, but has anyone found a really good design that they would personally recommend? Many thanks -

Deleting email folders 19 Mar 2011 (Forum)
I am using Outlook 2007 (with Windows 7) and have created some extra folders for long-term storage. I now have too many and want to get rid of them but can't find any way to do so. The Help facility, as nearly always, is no help! Can anyone suggest a method please (apart from the obvious "delete" commands)? -

Suggestions on what car? 1 Sep 2006 (Forum)
I will be travelling around 500+ miles a week (65-70% motorway). The back seat must fold down flat, the same level as the boot as it will be used for storage. i will spend anything between 2-5k. Now heres the bigger problem, I want a car that is reletavilty trendy and fashionable to have, so estates are pretty much out of the question. Any ideas? -

Diesel and Water contamination 21 Mar 2002 (Forum)
I?ve being storing some diesel in an outdoor storage tank. Unfortunately the fuel has become contaminated with water. Would it be sufficient to carefully syphon off the diesel from the top of the tank after the water has settled on the bottom. Would any water residue, however small, remain in this recovered diesel? -
Worcester 8000 Style 50w Viessmann Vitodens 111-W - Worcester 8000 Style 50w Viessmann Vitodens 111- 1 Jan 2021 (Forum)
1.Built quality 2.durability 3.customer service 4.ease of servicing 5.user interface I live in a 5 bed house with 3 bathrooms with about 20 radiators and I narrow down my choices to these two boilers , I prefer the combi because these new ones seem to be sufficient for big house and remove the need of water tank storage which I do not have the space for it. 1.Worcester Greenstar 8000 Style 50kW. I choose this one as most installers can do it with ease, it seems this range have improved in terms of design in case anything goes wrong and it has 18 l/m flow rate which is very important for me for a big house, comes with at least 10 years warranty and seem to have easy enough interface. but its very new to the market and there aren't many reviews on them 2.Viessmann Vitodens 111-W 35kW Storage Combination Boiler A whole new design a combi boiler that also have a storage so I can imagine it would be something between system and combi, I believe their built quality is better than worcester as they are german and have stainless steel heat exchanger, but I think if anything goes wrong they are more expensive to fix, this one also has 18 l/m. -

Extortionate recovery charges 1 Aug 2009 (Forum)
The following day a kindly neighbour took her to collect the vehicle and tow it away. She was informed that if she paid cash, the charge for recovery and overnight storage would 'only' be £260. Considerably more if paid by cheque/card, plus additional daily 'storage' fees! The good samaritan neighbour paid cash and has been reimbursed by the Bank of Mum. Daughter says that the police told her the recovery fee would only be £120...she was in shock and did not confirm this with the recovery driver. -
Volvo V60/S60 - Huge arm rest Volvo V60/S60 8 Nov 2017 (Forum)
I test drove a V60 the other day, nice car but had one anoying issue. The centre arm rest/ storage compartment is very high and forces your arm in to an unatural position for shifting gear. Wondered if anyone else had a problem with this and indeed if you get used to it? -
Central Heating System 3 May 2010 (Forum)
A question for any heating engineers or plumbers on this site. Gas central heating system with boiler and storage tank supplying heating and hot water. Have the heating off at the timer control. Hot water still on. Mid position actuation valve. Even though heating is off, the radiators heated up, and quite hot to touch. -
Petrol / Diesel capacity. 21 Aug 2008 (Forum)
A long established supermarket nearby occaisionlly runs out of diesel, the new one down the road doesnt, even when super market 1 runs out and it has increased demand. Does anyone know if new refueling stations have a more even Petrol / Diesel storage split to reflect current use. I assume that they both have similar reordering and delivery systems. -
Vauxhall Carlton - Rustproofing paint chassis underseal coating 3 Jan 2022 (Forum)
I am currently restoring my late uncles Vauxhall Carlton that's been in storage for many years. The car is in good condition - but i'm looking to protect the chassis. Is this the best paint for bare metal? https://www.frost.co.uk/por15-chassis-coat-black-paint-us-pint-473ml/ I've fully stripped and cleaned the chassis underbody last weekend. -
Water contamination of fuel 7 Jan 2016 (Forum)
How much water arrives at service stations in the tanker, how much gets in during delivery, and how much while customers fill up (in the rain) ? I guess it must build up at the bottom of the storage tanks - what is done to remove this, and how often? Is it a frequent problem for drivers? I ask these questions after reading the thread about changing fuel filters, and whether water is ever found there. -

Diesel Tank At Home 23 Jul 2006 (Forum)
I have often considered installing a diesel storage tank at home considering the possibilty of less, (or no fuel) available, the more the middle east countries keep beating each other up, which of course will never end. Two points come to mind. 1. -

Reusing an old tyre 28 Mar 2015 (Forum)
Opinions gentlemen, Continental ECO contact 3 tyre supplied as OE on a Fabia (rear) in May 2004. At 2.5 years/15000 miles, removed from alloy rim and put into storage in garage - stood upright. Approx 5.5mm in good condition. Now its 10.5 years old and been put back on its alloy rim - condition looks good, no cracking visible. Is it still safe to use (as a rear wheel on the same Fabia)? -
