Preview: Kent Italian car and bike day 8 Jul 2013 (News)
With all proceeds going to the Kent Air Ambulance, the classic day out, held near Honnington on 1 September, not only promises a fine selection of exotica, but also helps a great cause. For 2013, the organisers promise it will be bigger and better than ever. Again held as part of the Honnington Country Fair, for 2013 there will now be a ‘Premier Vehicle’ display stand, which consists of any vehicle of any nationality and any age with two, four or more wheels. -

Report: Peking to Paris, day 17 14 Jun 2013 (News)
We spotted a fuming crew member of the Citroen DS having navigation problems driving the lift to the superb dinner tonight… never mind the lift buttons, the Citroen in the car park is showing signs of another hydraulic issue, this time the front is stuck in maximum height mode. Car 3, the Model T Ford of Nicky Bailey, continues to trundle along, but the driver reckons it's down on performance… he blames a batch of poor petrol. -
'Lost' David Brown Aston Stars in September Auction 23 Aug 2010 (News)

Barons’ sale at Sandown Park on 25 February features a wide selection of classics spanning 90 years, giving classic car fans plenty of opportunities to buy something new and exciting for the upcoming season. The entry list includes a Jaguar D-type replica circuit racer originally constructed for Ron Lea, a 1958 Land Rover, a Wood & Pickett Mini cabriolet once owned by a movie star, a Lotus Cortina, a Series II E-type Jaguar, some very fine Bentleys and a rare, 1928 fabric-bodied Rover, which had just one owner for its first 78 years. -

Developing something of a reputation for the sale of fine classic commercial vehicles, Historics was able to offer one of just four 1951 Austin A70 Hereford Pickup’s known to still exist, and the plush ‘workhorse’ didn’t disappoint as it was sold for £17,500, comfortably over its estimate. -

It's an interesting, if baffling, story, In 1985, the owner parked his pride and joy in the hallway of his home, with the intention of admiring it there just for the day. But in the end, it never emerged again during his life. Now, more than 10,000 days later, the front door to the hallway was opened, and the car wheeled onto the patio on the first part of its journey to auction. -

Drunk and unconscious Tesla driver claims car was driving itself 8 Feb 2018 (News)
The driver, who was discovered to be over twice the legal limit, was apparently passed out in the stopped car while stuck in traffic on San Fransisco's Bay Bridge at 5:30pm, according to the California Highway Patrol. Once he was awoken, the man assured the police it was fine because he'd set the car to autopilot. Unsurprisingly, he was promptly arrested and charged with suspicion of Driving Under the Influence. The 'self-driving' capability of a Tesla allows the car to steer, change lanes, control braking and even parallel park itself. -

Although the gold-leaf covered 'ex Liberace' 1931 Cadillac Fleetwood Drop Head Coupe narrowly failed to find a buyer in this sale, it is already confirmed – at a revised guide price of £50,000-£65,000 – for Barons’ 28 October sale at Sandown Park. Other early lots confirmed for October include a very fine 1970 Lancia Fulvia Sport Series 1.5 (£19,000-£21,000) and an exceptionally rare and desirable 1924 Fiat 501, which is still driven by its 90-year owner – who has owned the car for over half a century (estimate TBC). -

Apparently she entered the car park at 11.57 and 15 seconds and left at 13:19 and 37 seconds on the same day, resulting in a 22 minute overstay. -

Report: Peking to Paris, day six 3 Jun 2013 (News)
Car 20, the 1933 Delage of Jan de Clerk, is joining us in Novosibirsk after suffering engine problems – a sad retirement given this is the third Peking to Paris for this car. Car 97, the 1964 Mercury Park Lane of Jan Pettersson, was in difficulty again, this morning it broke down on the start line and went off to a local garage for two hours and then set about playing catch-up.
