Ferrari 250 GT could make £8.5m at auction 3 Dec 2015 (News)
It is expected to fetch between £479,000 and £634,000. There’s also a 1961 Aston Martin DB4 included in the catalogue. Sold new in France, this left-hand DB4 is fitted with a Vantage-spec triple-carb engine and has the dashboard instruments from the DB4 GT. It’s expected to make up to £388,000. The official Retromobile sale by Artcurial Motorcars is an annual fixture at the Paris show. -
Barn-find Ferrari sells for £12.1m at Artcurial auction 11 Feb 2015 (News)
The auction included a 59 classics from the Ballion collection. Roger Baillon, an industrialist from the west of France, had saved many of the cars from the scrapyard. He hoped one day to turn his collection into a museum As well as the Ferrari, other cars from the collection sold included a 1956 Maserati A6G 2000 Gran Sport Berlinetta Frua at €2,000,000 (£1,479,274.25), and a the 1949 Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport SWB by Saoutchik that sold for €1,700,000 (£1,257,449.58). -

Renault ups specs, cuts prices 21 Dec 2000 (News)
Renault Meganes and Scenics get an upgrade for the New Year, together with three new engine options. These are a 120bhp 1.8 16v already widely seen in Meganes and Scenics in France, an 80bhp 1.9 turbo diesel and a 105bhp 1.9 common rail turbo diesel. The 1.8 16v offers a combined fuel consumption figure of 36.7mpg and emits 180g/km C02; the 80bhp dti has a combined consumption of 51.5mpg and emits 145g/km CO2; while the 105bhp dCi offers 54.3mpg combined with 139g/km C02. -

Ex-Nicolas Cage Bugatti could make £1.3m at auction 3 Sep 2015 (News)
The car, one of only six 101s built (and the only one featuring this particular Antem-designed coachwork), will be offered at Bonhams’ Chantilly Sale in France on 5 September. It’s believed that Cage purchased the Bugatti around the time he starred in the film, Gone in Sixty Seconds - a cinematic homage to the allure of rare and beautiful motor cars. -
Paddy Hopkirk to drive at the Festival of Speed 22 Jan 2014 (News)
Paddy Hopkirk will drive a Mini Cooper S up the Goodwood hill, evoking memories of his heroic performance on the mountain stages of Southern France in 1964. The 1964 Monte Carlo Rally featured crews starting from a variety of European cities, such as Oslo, Paris and Glasgow and descending on the Principality after a mammoth three-day drive of over 1400 miles. -
Jaguar XF claims further honours 26 Aug 2008 (News)
Explaining why the XF was chosen ahead of the rest, evecars.com's editor Alex Jenner-Fust remarked: "Driving it is a real pleasure, whether you're on the school run or cruising to the south of France." She added that the seats are extremely comfortable, while its audio system "is easy to use". Ms Jenner-Fust is not the first authority to have praised the Jaguar XF's stereo in recent weeks. -
Last Le Mans winning Ferrari to go under the hammer 28 Sep 2017 (News)
It’s the first time the car has been seen in public since it joined the Bardinon Collection at Mas du Clos, France. Started by Pierre Bardinon, the collection boasts 50 factory Ferraris, four of which won Le Mans. The news comes after the auction house smashed the record for the most expensive car sold at auction with another Ferrari from the same collection. -
Ferrari Enzo is top lot at RM Sotheby’s London sale 8 Sep 2017 (News)
This time, a 2004 Ferrari Enzo proved to be top lot at RM Sotheby’s London sale on 6 September. The car, which was finished in Blu Tour de France and had 8884km on the clock, made £1.8m Another strong seller was the 1955 Bentley R-Type Continental Fastback Sports Saloon. The car on offer was an ex-Bentley Drivers’ Club Concours Best in Class winner which was once owned by ex-Aston Martin Chairman and entrepreneur Victor Gauntlett. -

The survey also revealed that young drivers in the UK are the most likely to take a selfie at the wheel – 33 per cent, versus 28 per cent in Germany and France. Ford claims that ‘taking a selfie’ at the wheel could distract a driver for as long as 14 seconds, enough time to cover the length of five football pitches when moving at 60mph. “Taking a ‘selfie’ has for many young people quickly become an integral part of everyday life – but it’s the last thing you should be doing behind the wheel of a car,” said Jim Graham, Ford Driving Skills for Life manager. -
Austin 7s to gather at Beaulieu 7 May 2013 (News)

Peugeot 205 ticks past 338,000 miles 30 Apr 2013 (News)
Nicknamed ‘Fly,’ the car has been regularly serviced and maintained and is still going strong. ‘Fly’ was used for trips to France, along with more mundane day-to-day commutes and shopping trips. Sadly the owner,’ John Clive, passed away in December 2012. But rather than scrap the car John’s wife, Penny, has donated it to Eastleigh College for students to studying motor mechanics to maintain and work on. -
Ferrari 500 TRC to Star at Chelsea Autolegends 4 Aug 2012 (News)
Alongside will be David Piper's rare Ferrari 365 P2 and a host of other late 50s, 60s and early 70s Ferraris from the 1958 250 GT Tour de France to the 1971 Dino 246 GT. Also on show will be the Ferrari 288 GTO that was first owned by the former sporting director of Renault F1, Jean Sage, along with its successor, the Ferrari F40. -
European car production lowest since 1996 11 Mar 2010 (News)
Germany is the largest vehicle producer in Europe, making 5.2 million in 2009, while Spain is the second largest (2.2 million) to beat France into third spot. The UK remains in fourth place in the production figures league, producing more than 1 million vehicles during 2009. The ACEA's Economic Report forecasts that passenger car production will drop again in 2010 due to weaker demand and commercial vehicle production will remain at 2009 levels. -
