  • Alfa GT Coupe Makes £16,450 at Auction 21 Jan 2005 (News)
Sorry I forgot my camera again, so the picture is a stock shot. The Alfa was a 4,752 mile 04 reg 2.0JTS GT Coupe and it started promisingly enough at £13,500. • Classic ad of the week: 1980 Ladas 13 Feb 2015 (News)
And to stress the point, there was the constant backdrop of wildlife to fit in with each boast, 'The Ladas, each has an extra-thick skin' ran the voiceover, while a rhino headed towards the camera. As for the 'underbody corrosion protection', that was apparently a match for the toughness of a crocodile. All of which seems rather odd, considering how rust-prone your average Lada could be after a few years spent in Britain.

  • VIDEO: Dash cam footage shows taxi driver's escape after 75mph crash 1 Feb 2017 (News)
Trying to avoid capture, Grindle overtook another car, drove the wrong way down a one way street and crossed a give-way junction without slowing.  The taxi's VisionTrack VT2000 camera captured the moment the teenager's Toyota RAV4 loses control after hitting another car. The Toyota then spins in the air and crashes into the taxi. Despite the serious damage caused to both cars, no one was seriously injured.  Judge Neil Flewitt, QC, said it was 'a miracle' that no one was killed but decided not to jail Grindle, now aged 18, because it was his first offence.  Grindle, who was working in a garage, had bought the Toyota and was preparing to take his test when he panicked after police asked him to pull over. He was given 10 months in a young offenders' institution, suspended for two years, and banned from driving for two years.
