• Mondeo air con - cutting out 9 Jun 2006 (Forum)
  The air con is running nice and cold (when it's working) and one of the rad fans cuts in (as I believe it should) whenever the air-con button is pressed. Any ideas? Cheers DP

  hi, i have a problem with my wifes car, she has a focus edge 1,6 2005, the problem is the air con pump is coming on and clicking on/off also the fan is coming on causing the revs to drop nearly stalling the car, all this happens even though the air con is switched off, has anyone had a simular problem. thanks

  I recently had my air con regassed at Kwik Fit,  as it was running cool - not freezing cold as I am used to. It has only been three months and the air con is again running cool and takes ages to 'cool'  the car.

  I seem to rememeber in the dim and distant past a discussion about air-con bacteria and sprays to get rid of the bugs?, did anyone give this a go or can anyone tell me the best product to try, er indoors' motor has started to hum a bit, suspect its the air-con as she swears blind she hasnt spilt anything.

  My five year old Scenic has just started leaking water into the front passenger well after a hot journey with the air con working at maximum capacity. The air con still seems to work very efficiently.If this is condensation dripping off the condenser unit, how is it getting into the passenger well? Is there a drain tube which can get blocked or come loose?

  Does anyone know how faesible it is to retro fit air con onto a modern car (referring to 2004 fiesta here) but equally applicable to most modern cars. cheers

  The air blower on my Ford Escort 1.8 Ghia X has developed a malfunction. After about 5 minutes no air comes out despite the blower making all the right noises. This occurs with air-con on or off and hot or cold.

  Just this morning - cold but no colder than any others recently, I got into the car, started her up and hit the air con along with the fan and heat settings. Then noticed that the air con light was slowly flashing on and off. Air con seems to be working as it cleared relatively quickly but nothing I could do short of turning off the fans would stop it flashing. can't find anything in the manual about so wondered if anyone on here could help?

  Wrote letter asking for air con to be installed, find car the same with air con for exchange or refund commensurate with missing option. Telephoned today offered either £200 or return car to them by the end of the week.

  Can any one suggest what I should have to pay to have the Air con regassed? I assume that this is the issue as even when air con is on and at its lowest we still get warm air! The car is a 2008 diesel. We also have an XC90 and the AC seems fine but wonder if i am having one done should I have both!

  just come back from town,in my mates car, and he had the heater in "meltdown" mode. i noticed that he also had the air-con on as well, and asked him why? (i always thought air-con was to chill the car interior in summer). he said that its on all the time in winter,cos it dries the air,and helps stop the (damp)carpets and seats from going mouldy. can this be right?

  when i turn on the air con in the car it blows the fuse . when i disconnect the compressor it doesnt blow. Is the compressor blown.

  I noticed that the air con is only working on the highest number 4 setting when I got in my wife’s car this morning. 1,2 and 3 not working and no blowing at all. The red air con on light also goes out when it is switched from 4 to 3.

  I have a 2004 Mondeo Diesel and I have bought a can of air con gas to re-charge it but where do I connect it? The line I can see near the washer bottle has the correct shape connector on to that on the air con bottle but it is bigger so won't fit. Is there a second connector somewhere?
