  Hi there, I think the bulb has gone for the low petrol warning - any advice on how to change the bulb? It's a Mondeo Zetec S 2.5 V6 51 plate/02 manufacture if that helps. I've tried taking the bottom of the dash off to gain access but don't seem to be able to find a way to remove the actual dash or reach up to the back of the cluster to change a bulb.

  My lay understanding of the legal position is that the warranty is not invalidated providing that parts meeting the manufacturer?s specification are used. Anyone have experience of this? This is not a name and shame exercise. If their advice is correct their unusual candour may have done me a huge favour. made vehicle non-specific.

  Even in the 1970's we were urged to change water hoses regularly ; indeed a spare top and bottom hose was sometimes carried in the boot. The practice seem to disappear almost overnight, presumeably due to material improvements.

  Seen quite a few on AutoTrader and have e-mailed numerous dealer using the 'contact us' section on their websites. I used the e-maill option so I could give full details of my p/x and stress I was s erious buyer with cash waiting. Not a single, solitary one has replied. They range from main dealers to independents. If they can't be bothered to make the effort to sell, what would they be like if there was a problem.

• Ford - Ford Endura 1.3 engine - avoid or not? 21 Oct 2008 (Forum)
  I have seen a couple of potential cars, both late 90's Fiestas with the ancient push rod 1.3 Endura engine. My dad has one of these it has done 74k, it is a little it noisy but its a lot quieter than diesels of that era.l The motoring press all say to avoid them, but they are chain driven etc and are very easy to service.

  Ive looked on autotrader and they are going for around £3500 for 2005 models so they loose value very quickly. Whats this model like to drive with the 1.6 engine? I do like the 407's - nice drive. Ok the build isnt Lexus but they are pretty cheap and do the job.

  Hi, I hope someone really can help me with this. I am hiring a beautiful 1960's VW Camper van to go over the Isle of Wight in. Only thing is the excess on the van is high and I want to take out Excess insurance (to cover the excess)......... only one problem though, it seems all the companies out there will not cover a vehicle of this age?

  Yes, it's me again with my 07/56 320d... Tech question(s) related to the 'swingometer' instant fuel consumption gauge: I'm driving along at a steady speed - say an indicated 70 mph. I ease my foot off the accelerator pedal, and the swingometer shows (logically) an increase in mpg.

  A high proportion of Sat Nav's I see in cars are mounted on the windscreen and I've often thought these can't be good for road safety - especially for blocking the driver's view of pedestrians and cyclists. The Road Traffic Act?s Construction and Use regulations say: "the satellite navigation unit must not be located anywhere within the sweep of the windscreen wipers or anywhere else that would cause obstruction to the clear vision of the driver" Looks like the authorities agree there's a safety problem.

  Daughter has a new Zetec S The manual says that the locking can be set up to unlock only the drivers door on one push by holding the lock and unlock buttons simultaneously for four seconds. The car will confirm by flashing the indicators.

  I have agreed this as p/x+£4k for a 2004 54 Audi Avant Sport 1.9TDi auto (£10k) but has no extras and has done 74k (but has full audi s/h and cambelt) I am now having second thoughts...what is the better car? What would you do? I need to let the seller know tommorrow?

  Could anyone with access to a parts list, please advise the part number for the outer half of the mirror case for the N/S ( electric ) door mirror on a 2002 Agila. This is the piece which would normally be painted to match the car. Seeking number for part in plain black plastic if available or failing this, for the part primed prior to painting.

  I recently used Shell V-Power in my 2005 MINI Cooper S and 2007 BMW 320d to see if it gave better fuel consumption over 'cooking' petrol/diesel. Total mileage of test approx 3,000. Result: no meaninful - if any - improvement. Conclusion (for me and my cars): premium fuel = waste of money.

  Someone broke into my 1998 1.2 S Reg Punto and when i opened the door the red lever was on the floor. I have looked through the manual to try and work out where it goes and what it was attached to but cannot find anything. The battery is now flat and i cannot open the bonnet.

  I'm looking at a VW GOLF 1.9 TDI 5 dr it then says TREND. It's on a 05 plate. 36,850 miles. Anybody any idea what it is (S, SE, Sport). Is it a local dealer upgrade? Any valid opinions on it as a private buy for £9k? Currently running a Skoda Octavia Ambiente 2.0 on a Y. 130k. Is it worth switching to diesel in spite of the price differential.

  Just something that has got me thinking since i've picked up my new golf. Had a golf before then changed to fiesta zetec s now changed back to a golf and the engine in this one feels stronger and more up for it. The engine in my last golf was a BKC and the engine in this one is a BXE if i remember correctly. What are the difference between these engines there is also a BLS too which are all 1.9 77KW pumpe duse engines.
