Renault Espace (2002 - ) - 05 2.2 EGR, loss of power, management light, oil l 23 Jun 2012 (Forum)
Took the car to a specialist and eventually to a main dealer who both diagnosed that the EGR valve (the second by this time) needed replacing as this was causing oil to be drawn through. Valve changed pipes cleaned and all was well for about 1-2 months then exactly the same problems happen again with the adde bonus of oil appearing somwhere out the top of the engine as the underside of the air intake box is covered. -
FIAT Panda (2003 - ) - Panda ECO models 11 Nov 2008 (Forum)
If the changes are so basic, why doesn't Fiat change all versions rather than having both? Any help/suggestions gratefully received. Cheers -

Oil prob on Clio 18 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Hi Hope someone can help. We have got an S Reg Clio. The oil warning light flashes on and off when warm, going over bumps, or jerking in the gears. It also happens when changing gear but never stays on - any ideas? Next thing I was going to look at was the electrics but not sure how easy this is? -
Vauxhall Astra (2002) 1.6club 8Valve petrol - Oil Grade Options 24 Nov 2011 (Forum)
I believe that currently the oil in my car is 15-40 semi-synthetic. The halfords listing in the store says either 15-40 or 10-40 semi-synthetic. I have just spoken to Kwikfit about an oil change and it would seem that they would use 0-40. -
Vauxhall Astra 1.6club 8valve petrol - Oil dip level 24 Nov 2011 (Forum)
Astra (2002 & 91,000miles). From monitoring in earlier years I know engine now uses oil at approx 1ml per mile Oil level dips fine when it has just been changed but after a month or two it is almost impossible to get a true dip. Level continues to show 'full' when it must have used oil (based on mileage driven). -
Citroen C25 - What engine oil do I use in a diesel engine? 8 Oct 2010 (Forum)
Sorry for the numpty question but I've just bought my first diesel motor, I haven'tgot myself a workshop manual yet, and I want to change the oil and filter before using it. My question is do diesels use a specific type of engine oil or will any regular motor engine oil do the job? It's a fairly high mileage motor (111,000) so I want to give it decent protection. -

I have just changed a rockerbox gasket on my wifes punto 90 1.6 cabroliet which was leaking, when i took the rockerbox off there was a pool of oil which seemed excessive. most cars i have worked with from this era had a drip feed to the rocker arms and had minimal oil residue. -

Removing oil filters 13 May 2008 (Forum)
For several years I have often struggled (but succeeded) in doing oil changes with a chain wrench to remove filter. This weekend the Fiesta's filter (not rusted) was really tight and I ended up just breaking links on spanner. So popped out and bought some Oil filter pliers, one turn and hey presto!. -
Almera oil leak 22 Sep 2006 (Forum)
It's not a bad leak, just a few drops over night. The dipstick tells me that the sumps half full, last oil change was in December 2005. Has anybody on here had experience of such an oil leak in these cars. All answers appreciated. Thanks -

Should I change my auto box oil? 19 Aug 2004 (Forum)
As far as I know, the auto box fluid in my Omega GLS 2.0 16V hasn't been changed. The car is only 3 yrs old and has covered nearly 90,000 miles - probably mainly motorways. I noted in the Haynes manual they suggest replacing the auto box oil in high mileage vehicles after 3 yrs, but when I called Vauxhall they told me it isnt necessary to change it. -
Ford Focus 2005 TDCI 1.6L - Lack of Turbo boost 17 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Ford have a list as long as your arm to replace if the turbo fails, I'm hoping I can get away with just changing the turbo and the oil feed pipe as I understand the oil feed pipe was modded~2007 to recifiy a know issue with it causing turbo failure. I'll also drain the oil and replace with some good quality fully synthetic oil, After looking around this and other sites I'm wondering how best to rectify the problem. -
Mk2 astra 1.3 oil burning quandary 12 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Noticed blue smoke on start-up/take off, found that the air filter housing was covered in oil so removed, soaked and flushed oil separator and hose with parafin. loads of crap in it and this solved the smoking problem. The following week did lots of jobs for MOT,it passed, treated it to an oil change, a week later I have the same scenario, but now its worse. -

Ford Focus 1.8 tddi - focus 1.8 tddi low oil pressure 15 Sep 2012 (Forum)

Citroen ZX (1992 - 1998) - 95 1.9d non-turbo gritty g/change & temp gauge. 9 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Hi Have recently bought a 1995 1.9D Avantage ZX non-Turbo have had a few Citroens but never one of these. The car did not come with the owners handbook. I was going to do an oil & filter change and was wondering if the engine & gearbox oil were combined ? If their not is it easy enough to drain the gearbox oil and refill it ? The reason I ask is the Gears seem a Little sticky when engaging they don't crunch just feel a bit gritty.
