Vectra Reversing Lights Stopped Working 30 Oct 2003 (Forum)
The manual seems to detail what every single fuse is for but info about the reversing lights and their corresponding fuse is conspicuous in it\'s absence. Before I get on my hands and knees and carefully remove every single fuse from the box, can anybody shed any light on what the problem may be? Thanks. -
Not Commercial - Just Funny 21 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Having been a subscriber to the BR since the 7th May 2002, you should already have known that. As for having a \"sense of humour\", it\'s not in the job description. Locking accounts for impertinence is however. DD. -

ford focus "drop rods" 2 Aug 2003 (Forum)
Hi, My Focus has developed a "knocking/rattle" on the o/s front end. It is just like a failed shocker, i am told it may well be a "drop rod" problem. I believe these are similar to track rod ends but vertical, and are connected to the anti roll bar. Never heard of drop rods before, is this a new thing ford have brought out, had a few cars in my time, (last one a sierra) but never come across these. -
Madness - de\'liver\'y driver banned 12 Jun 2003 (Forum)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/west_yorkshire/2937910.stm Ambulance driver of 36 years rushing a liver for an emergency transplant from Leeds to Cambridge, blues and twos on, is being prosecuted by Lincolnshire police. Interestingly, Cambridgeshire police, who also clocked him, are taking no action. So it\'s fine for Jack Straw to get his driver to speed on security grounds, but not for a man who is potentially saving a life, to do so. Mental. -

Audi A3 Rear washer feed 7 May 2003 (Forum)
I didn't get a positive response when I asked the garage to tell me where it was routed and where the connection(s) are. -
New Driver - Great deal but Girly car??? 5 May 2003 (Forum)
Just passed my driving test and i've been offered a great deal on a 850cc Daihatsu Cuore. The insurance rates are low, its an S reg and only 11,000 miles on the clock. Drawbacks? It's tiny. Anybody got any views on it and how much stick do you think I will take for it from my mates. Should I hold out for a Nissan Micra? Wont come anywhere close to this deal but its a bit bigger. -
Car not in use - what to do? 11 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Should I do anything with her car during this time to ensure that bits don't seize up? It is a Fiesta, 1.25 Zetec, S Reg with about 33k on the clock. My only thought was to give it a blast up the A38 to Lichfield and back once a week (about 10 miles). Thanks, TT -
Old and boring audi 80 - but! 11 Apr 2003 (Forum)
Ok, not so interesting question for those with 1.8 t\'s But here goes: Have an Audi 80 with Keihinn 1 carb, which is a bit of a dog, seems exceptionally difficult to tune, and generally worn. Is it possible to fit a weber conversion to this car? I know a scirocco can take weber, is it poss to throw on a scirocco manifold with weber? -
Audi A6 2.4 timing belt 28 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Hi folks, I\'ve got a 1998 2.4 A6 with 54000 miles. Audi recommend changing the belt around 60k which is when it\'s due for its next service. The worry is because I\'ve noticed a fairly quiet metallic clunk/pinking from the engine at idle. This noise is also fairly errtic and more noteable sometimes than others. -
Sticking 306 gearbox/clutch 11 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Anyone I have recently noticed my 306 (98 S) is taking a lot of effort to put in gear, any gear. Particular force required to get to 2nd (from either 1 or 3) and all areuncomfortably ropey. Have tried pushing the clutch pedal right into the floor which sometimes helps, and occasionally if I get the stick movement just so, a smoothish change happens. -
Let the good times roll 4 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Following on from teabelly's thread about best motoring moments, what's everyones favourite motoring moment(s)? Mine? a) Realising that the car hire firm had screwed up the booking for a Laguna and I'd be driving a 3.0V6 Avantime around the amazing roads of Corsica for a week, and driving that week b) Cruising around Newcastle in a brand new Merc E-class when my own car was a Maestro, listening to Nat King Cole "There may be trouble ahead" Probably many more but that'll do to start with. -

Vectra Brake Squeal 4 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Washing/hosing seems to make no difference, and it happens both in the dry and wet. The same thing happened on my previous 1.8 S reg, I couldn't believe it when its replacement did the same straight after leaving FoW ! Any thoughts/ideas/solutions ? Cheers, Steve -
diesel engines annoy swmbo 29 Jan 2003 (Forum)
In the morning this can be a bit irritating as two or three vans all arrive together . Why don`t they switch off their engines ? I suspect it`s a throwback to when diesels were hard to start so the easy option was to leave them running but todays refined diesel engines should be more reliable , so why do they still do it ? -
Vauxhall Reliability? 30 Nov 2002 (Forum)
With all the recent adverse press reports(JD Power & Auto Express) on G.M. reliability, I would appreciate any comments from backroomers with experience of this model. I have looked on H.J`s car x car breakdown for this model which gives a conflicting picture - came 3rd from top in the Which 2002 survey and 8th from the bottom in the Auto Express 2002 report. Any comments and advice would be much appreciated. -
Tyre Milage 4 Nov 2002 (Forum)
Having just changed all four tyres on my Renault Laguna yesterday,I was surprised to find that the tyres on the back were the original ones fitted from new. They were Pirelli P4000's and they had done 60195 miles and they were still not quite down to the wear bars. Makes quite a change from the tyres on my Fazer 600.I usually get 4000 from a rear and they cost over £100 each and I have to remove the wheel. -
BMW New or used? 23 Oct 2002 (Forum)
We have looked at imports but the price difference again is not massive and I am not sure I trust the specs. Is this a case of pay up and shut up and buy a new one? P S Any saving gets spent on the house! Meldrew (I just do not believe it!)
