• Citroen C5 (2001 - 2008) - 2001 2.2HDi - non start 1 May 2008 (Forum)
  A simple pulley failure caused the alternator drive belt to come off. The car drove 50yards without the alternator charging then stopped it has never re-started! Citroen main Dealer has fitted a new battery, high pressure fuel pump, camshaft sensor, water pump and cam belt. £1400 later still no start. Any ideas?

  I have been reading various reports that the EGS autobox on the C5 Grand Picasso is very bad when manoeuvring in and out of parking spaces. Has anyone had experience of this and, if so, did they approach Citroen with the problem. If this is indeed the case then I will abandon the idea of buying this car and look for another 6/7 seater MPV with a better autobox. Anyone have any suggestions on this front?

  Hi. HELP PLEASE ! Am Half way through changing the steering wheel on my '97 Citroen ZX 1.9TD. Safely disconnected battery and removed airbag unit without mishap. Removed hub nut as directed by Haynes, but no amount of persuasion seems to remove the old steering wheel. It seems stuck fast, even after liberal amount of penetrating spray to help free it off.

  Need to use a Citroen ZX Diesel (non turbo) for a few weeks while car is being repaired. I bought it through through the small ads in the local rag and is a genuine 2 owner 97 car. the previous owner had the car for six years and as a pensioner he says he never went over 50 mph.

  hi, i have a citroen zx 1.9td volcane. The problem i have with it is when your going about 30 mph plus and you go round a right hand bend the front of the car seems to dig in and pull you severely to that side, it's quite scary as i nearly lost the car twice on a bend. i have checked underneath and can't seem to see anything adrift!!

  hi, my citroen diesel has decided 2 present me with a really annoying warning light which i dont understand. its on the right hand side under the temp gage. its an orange warning light with what looks like a lower case 'r' with a dripper under it. it also displays 2 small lines at the side of the lower case 'r' in the warning box.

  The mechanic tells me that load compensation valve has seized and would cost between £300 to £400 to repair! its a Citroen Xsara 1.9 diesel. I can't afford that. Should I risk the journey or cancel? I will be travelling with my g/f. Is it dangerous? Is the price fair? I just don't know what to do!

  There appears to be three 2.0 HDi engines available for the Citroen Dispatch (Fiat Scudo and Puegeot Expert) models over the past 5 years. Theres two 8valve models with 94 & 109bhp, and a 16v with 109bhp (but more torque than the 109 8v). The question is, are the two 8valve versions mechanically the same?

  Was bored while sitting at traffic lights and gave the pedal a good shove, and distinctly felt it hit the stop. Brakes feel as sharp as they ever did. Car is a Citroen Xsara. Can't remember ever changing the brake fluid as have had no problems with the brakes. Have never put on the brakes as hard as I can before, so don't know if this is normal for the car. :)

  Further to my earlier enquiry, it now transpires that my nieces Citroen Saxo 1.2? 51 plate sometimes stalls and won't restart. Also it seems the choke does not want to come on when cold. I have checked all the connectors and given the leads etc the WD40 treatment. All plugs, Air filter etc are fairly new.

  I read somewhere that Citroen are launching a C3 with Eco feature, this being that as soon as the car stops and providing you keep your foot on the brake, the engine cuts out. The engine restarts in 0.4 secs as soon as you release the foot brake.

  Hi All, My Wife\'s Citroen Xsara 1.4 forte (Jan 2000) exhaust has just started to blow. I was just going to get the garage to look at it and change the damaged part eg back box etc but my Father in Law says you might as well change the whole system as soon as you change one part the other parts will start to go.

  I just bought a used Citroen from a main dealer. I was a bit worried when I read the manual that mentioned a coded card, it states that 'should the card be lost the immobiliser device can no longer be considered secure'. All I received was 1 key (with built in remote).

  Hi, I've got a 1991 Citroen AX. 2 weeks ago the radiator cooling fan stopped working. I've replaced the fuse and it was fine, but tonight the fuse went again. Replaced it again, and all seems fine (coming on when the engine gets hot, not on all the time, turning off when it's cooled down), but I don't fancy doing this every 2 weeks.
• Citroen Xantia clutch problems 13 Jan 2003 (Forum)
  I have a 1995 Citroen Xantia 1.9 SX TD 5 door hatchback. In October 2002 the plastic ring which connects the clutch pedal to the clutch cable snapped and then in December the same thing happened. Both times I had the ring replaced, but I have been told it will break again and that the only permanent solution is to change the clutch.
• lack of power in citroen bx diesel 30 Dec 2002 (Forum)
  I'm experiencing a lack of power in my Citroen BX 1.7 diesel, (1990, 170,000 miles). On the flat it moves along ok with a maximum speed of 55-60mph, but when I hit even small hills it struggles at 35-40mph. I've just changed the air and oil filter and the oil, and it's just had a new cam belt, but the problem still exists before and after these changes.
• Citroen Xsara HDi Coupe 17 Nov 2002 (Forum)
  Its fully loaded - Air-con, 6 CD, Cruise Control (I think), alloys etc. I've been told that it has an 80bhp engine, although when I checked on the Citroen site, it indicates that it has the Peugeot 110bhp engine. Can anyone confirm the existence of a 1.9HDi 80bhp and also let me know you rate the 110bhp? Thanks, James
