  Auto Express article today: "Renault has confirmed that it has entered a consultation process with staff which is likely to result in the reduction of the 200-strong workforce at its British headquarters by 30 per cent. Staff at the base at Maple Cross, Herts, have been told the news today.

  Hello, The alarm/immobiliser on my Renault Clio has decided to declare war on me. Without any provocation at all, the alarm decided to sound today (while the car was parked in the drive). It was driven earlier in the day and was fine. How rude.

  I know they are built out of Korea using lots of Nissan mechanicals but advice from friends based on their recent experience of Renault, cars and dealers, is "Whatever you do, don't do it!". I have no ownership experience of Renault or anything French and so am guided by nothing more than general suspiscion and prejudice picked up elsewhere.

  it has been checked by renault, and 3 independents and no one knows what it is!!! any suggestions apart from topping myself would be greatly recieved

  Does anyone know what might be the problem, I am going to check all hoses for leaks but I fear it might be another drop off at Renaults for another rip-off expensive diagnostic again?

  RENAULT KANGOO 1.9 DIESEL CODED STOP SOLANOID hello, i have just fitted a diesel pump to my renault kangoo and it didnt pump any fuel through to the injectors , fuel got to the pump but no further . the kangoo is fitted with an imobiliser and i think this stops the fuel stop valve salanoid from oppening using a code. now could i have a new code added , or the old 1 changed , or do i have to take the old solanoid off and fit to the new pump?

  Recently when being serviced, Renault fitted another filter and after a couple of months the problem has returned. I'd like to remove it myself. Does anyone know where it is located and how easy it is to remove?

  I picked up my nearly new Renault Megane 1.5 dCi from a Renault dealer on Friday. As promised he'd filled the tank. I drove it 4 miles before it started juddering badly, cut out and wouldn't re-start. The dealership recovered the car and it turned out they had filled it with petrol not diesel.

  Obviously I should get these sorted first before all of the grease gets out and second before a load of dirty salty water gets in. I guess there are a few options... 1) new from renault dealer 2) recon from somewhere or other 3) replacement boots Given that the car is a 120,000 mile 1999 Renault Megane, only the terminally stupid would spend money on option 1. What are the thoughts of those folk out ther who more about these things than I do???

  Is it worth the risk?? Are Renault likely to have solved their quality problems? The C-max is nice inside though smaller. The Zafira looks OK and has 7 seats (occasionally handy) but even the Elegance model is very drab inside. There are also concerns about the dti engine.
