  • Hyundai ix35 27 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Those who read this column regularly will know I'm trying to find a car to accomodate 3 children in the back without paying the earth, and without saying goodbye to the pleasure of driving and economy.  I've never owned a Hyundai, but I like the look of the ix35, the reviews and the fact I can get 3 kids in the back.  I'd buy one now, but for the drive, which reminds me of acquaplaning in a 205.

  • economical, reliable car for £5000? 27 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Hi all I need a secondhand car. I don't want to spend much more than about £5000 because I drive 80 miles a day so it's not worth it. But, I need something very reliable in all weather and which does 55+ mpg (diesel obviously). It is 80% motorway driving too, the mpg needs to be possible at realistic speeds (70-75mph).

  • Why will car drivers not reverse, incompetence? 15 Sep 2010 (Forum)
After a week in Cornwall, where my car appeared to be the only one fitted with a reverse gear, incl being asked to move my non blocking carefully parked car so as to prevent a 35 year old women "struggling" ( her words ) to reverse. She was driving a wee Peugeot & there was room for a people carrier. Ergo why was she allowed to pass her driving test? Scheesh

  • No more pint on the way home (or any other time). 6 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Proposals to reduce the drink-drive limit: http://tinyurl.com/yzhgsyb In my opinion a flawed idea. It's not the currently-legal people who cause the problems, it's the ones a way over the current limit. It would make more sense to entirely ban the use of telephones when driving.
