  • Ford Escort (1993 - 2000) - 98 1.6 Servo Assist Problem? 18 May 2009 (Forum)
Almost like a snap/spring/clunk low pitched sound under the car. I had to roll it down my hill and park using the handbrake. The car seems fine now having driven it round the block - BUT I want to be sure that this is normal, and that I shouldn't take it into a garage to check for an issue with the servo assist or something related to it.
  • Citroen C5 (2001 - 2008) - 02 110 HDi estate electrics 16 Mar 2008 (Forum)
This is realy begining to bug me. fuse F9 keeps blowing, not when i use something ,but when the car is parked up,not every time,it will be fine for weeks then have a hissy fit and go through one evry time i park,I've disconnected windows, power points and rear level switch and makes no differance, has anyone got access to a wiring diagram. at first i thought it was tied in with putting a wieght in the back, but that makes no change, are there any boxes that dont like moisture, could it be spiked on start,i've tried the reset electrics routine but again no change.
  • Penalty charge notice 6 Dec 2004 (Forum)
A camera caught my car. My dad did not get my consent to use the car, he did display the badge when parking in the disabled bay after entering the road. I spoke to the parking people, they said he should have displayed the blue badge on the dash before entering the road. How should I appeal so we both do not get fined, as the sign did not say display the badge.
  • I was issued a PCN due to confusion over private parking in a public car park - how should I proceed? 21 Mar 2011 (Ask HJ)
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council (TWBC) owns and manages a multi storey car park opposite the train station. On the top two floors of the car park, there...
  • VW Polo 2018 - Accident repair question 21 Jan 2019 (Forum)
They said I could go through the VW garage for the repair if I wanted, but I said I’d let them handle it. So, can I assume their repairer is fine, they said they give a five year warranty and are Kite approved? Secondly, can I assume the other party is at fault given that the rear of their car went into the side of mine? I have dash cam footage which shows that I am out of the parking space and pretty much ready to drive forwards when the impact occurs.
  • FORD RANGER SUPERCAB 4X2 DIESEL, 2000 - FORD RANGER MK1 2000 MYSTERY PROBLEM 31 Jan 2019 (Forum)
But now the problem has returned and this time, the glow plug light is staying off and I cannot start at all. Yesterday it was running fine, I parked it in very hot weather for a few hours, but by the time I came back to it, it was dark and cool, I turned on the key - no glow plug light, and it turns over but won't start. It does not start with 'easy start' either.
  • Speeding (mostly excl cameras) XXIX 21 May 2005 (Forum)
We all seem to think that we get a hard time through speed cameras and parking fines etc. If only motorists would stick to the letter of the law the powers that be would soon have to withdraw somewhat as their dastardly scheme to get every last penny from us would soon be non-profitable.
  • Civic Power Steering 11 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Hi i have had a honda cicic 1.6 esi for a few years the only problem i have with it is that the power steering is too light. It is fine for parking but feels way too sensative at speed, you really need to concentrate on what you are doing with the wheel. is there any thing that can be done to increase the "weight" of the steeing wheel?
  • Renault Clio 1.4RT 98> 25 Jul 2005 (Forum)
Peeps, been having intermittant problem for far too long now, i'll explain: My clio 1.4RT runs fine, starts fine, all ECU sensors fine. However if you go out for a run and the engine gets hot, then you sit on low idle for a while (for example sitting in a queue for a car park, far to often where I live) the ECU "dumps" its throttle setting and starts to Idle at 1400rpm.
  • Mazda 3 - quick insurance query 1 Mar 2024 (Forum)
I suppose the heading should give it away obviously but just double checking they are not asking to declare all your parking fines, penalty notices etc.?
  • 55 vectra 2.2 16v sri - engine cuts out 22 Aug 2013 (Forum)

  • Rover 400/414i - Will not start 27 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Last week I parked my car on the way home to pop into the shops. On returning to the car it would not start. When I turn the key all I hear is a click then nothing. It started fine at the beginning of my journey, and the lights work fine.

  • BMW 5 Series Touring F11 - Air suspension issue 25 Apr 2017 (Forum)
My suspension intermittently drops on the driver's side rear air suspension when parked.  It is fine when driving and there are no error codes on the diagnostics.  A leak seems unlikely as half the time it stays level.  Any suggestions would be appreciated as it is under warrantee but the garage can't find a fault.
  • Ford Focus tdci zetec 2005 - immobiliser problem 3 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Ive reprogrammed the key and all the locks work fine with the remote. Could it be cross interference with similar vehicles parked by or mobile phone/mast interference(last week I was parked right under a massive o2 mast and it played up). Ive spoke to Ford Servicing but as usual its a 'bring it in for us to look at' response Any help much appreciated Thanks
  • Protection of Freedoms Bill - Clause 56 - Petition 4 Oct 2011 (Forum)
Part 3, Chapter 2, Clause 56 of The Protection of Freedoms is designed to make the registered keeper liable for any parking fines where it is not possible to identify the driver responsible for the parking infringement. This clause has the backing of, and heavy lobbying from, the British Parking Association due to the revenue stream it will generate for its members.
  • Stupidity 30 Sep 2002 (Forum)
The whole thing is a cheap and nasty exercise which will, quite rightly, make motorists think more deeply about the great expense, personal risk, and incovenience of travelling by train. The mailed package is done up in a clear plastic cover to look, at first glance, just like a parking fine notification and how their so called "Publicity Manager" was ever allowed to sanction such stupidity is beyond me. My letter of complaint has asked that he be sacked. Has anyone else received one of these ?
