  In some ways it makes sense as a classic left standing and taken out a few times a year is quite demanding on the battery. Similarly a car that only does a short supermarket trip every week.

  Hi,   My Dell Vostro's battery is dying. It lasts around 10mins when not plugged into the mains and has given up warning me it's reached critical until after I've turned it back on! (not helpful in the least!)   Can anyone recommend an online source of genuine Dell batteries?

  After replacing the front discs and pads, a few days later the battery was completely discharged. After recharging and reconnecting the battery I noticed that a motor was running. I traced this to the ABS pump motor, this was confirmed by removing the 40amp fuse protecting that circuit, Any ideas what has caused the ABS pump to continue running even when the key is not in the ignition, has it anything to do with the replacing the front discs and pads?

  My old runabout has stopped "running about"! 1992 Citroen ZX 1.9D will not start Battery? 8 hours charge and still will not even turn over. Absolutely silent when you turn the key Battery Light on dash stays on "all the time" even with no key in ignition Only thing I did just before this fault was replacing the alternator/power steering belt but it did start fine once afterwards?

  hi all......... i have another car thats been off of the road for a while ..... the battery went flat so i keep it on charge ... would it be ok to use it in the clio to keep it conditioned, it's a 76ah from my frontera, i know it's alot bigger in power, would the altenator cope.... i would rotate the batteries to keep them both ok ........

  The Missus noticed this at 3.00 this afternoon, when she got out and locked the car. Was still running when I got home at 8 !! The battery is almost flat and the only way to stop the fan was to disconnect the battery. Have placed the battery on charge overnight and shown her how to disconnect the battery (clever screw thingies) but I need to find a solution tomorrow afternoon.

  The buttons on the key on my wifes B Class Mercedes stopped functioning. Popped round to the local Mercedes dealer and was informed that the batteries were £5 for two. I said I was expecting him to give me one not charge me. I fefused to pay their price, on the internet the most expensive I could see were £1.69 for two including postage. The same batteries, Panasonic CR2025 as original.

  The car stutters on hard acceleration up to 3,200 (where the extra ports open) before clearing. The car then drives fine up to about 5,000 when the battery light comes on. There are no fault codes logged in the ecu. Anyone got any ideas before I spend any more cash swapping out the battery?

  hi i have not used my car for a while i found battery flat but no response from transponder key( plip) i can get in the car switch on the ignition but the alarm still sounds i have put a new battery on still the same any suggestions would be good i am new to this site so my apologies if this goes to the wrong person regards gary moved to a standalone thread.

  Hi all, I have a 75Amp caravan battery in the boot of my 05 Mazda6. I'd like to trickle charge it to keep it topped up. I have a mains charger to give it a full charge overnight. Its been suggest I could simply take a fused supply from the cigar socket straight to the battery.

  i have bought a used 2001 hyudai accent which has a clarion car radio model rab2671r i have no code for this radio and the previous owner (1) when i contacted him niether had any info on this if i were to remove the battery for some reason i presume it would not work after reinstalling the battery i heard there was a way round this by putting a pp9 battery connected to a cigarette lighter plug or across the battery terminals before disconnecting them to keep the radio code on any advice please,thankyou deggers

  Hi Folks, Is anyone aware of any "deals" on batteries from major chains at the moment? Or any other recommendations, likely best motor factors, etc? Yes, the XM battery is in it's twilight years. It's the original stamped June 96. It did not want to warm my equally mature glow plugs this morning.

  Hi I had a battery a year ago which decided to leak at two years old, spilling its acid into the battery tray and down the inner wing. Anyhow, I cleaned it off and painted over, but the rust has come back. When I had the wheel-arch liners off I noticed the area had rusted through and appeared 'wet'.

  I checked the battery voltage this morning and it was 11.6V. Surely it shouldn't have dropped this much in four days! Anyway, I contacted my dealer to ask if I they could do a battery check and they said they could but it would be £132!

  Just noticed one of my car keys is on low battery. I read that most of them last for a few years. This car is a 2014 model. So do I need to buy a new set for this particular model? I've got a spare so at least I'm good for the moment.

  Hi,   I've just changed the battery on my wife's Micra (53 plate) 1.2 petrol. Now the car won't start. The ignition turns and all the lights come on but nothing happens in the engine.   Any ideas?   Thanks

  Apologies if this has been asked before but cars today and from many years back all seem to have some type of insulation jacket on their 12v batteries under the bonnet. Why is this ? Is it to keep it warm, insulate it from the engine bay heat or a bit of both and just maintain it at a constant temp ? Cheers
