  My friends 2000 Audi A4 1.8T has started to sound decidedly strange. A strange roughness coming from the top of the engine which makes it sound like a diesel. is there a known problem of oil pump or feeder pipe failure on this engine.

  My 1996 Audi A4 has just failed the MOT because the handbrake is inoperative on the driver's side back wheel. I've booked it in for investigation on Thursday, but in the meantime does anyone know what could need replacing?

  Hi, Looking for a bit of advice here - I am thinking of buying an older (4+ years) A8, as we are moving house and my journey to work will be 15 miles along the motorway. I have always liked them, but wondered if anybody has any experience of them? I have owned Audis before and always found them to be pretty reliable, but a lot of the A8's are high mileage - shoul dthis bother me?

  Just saw a commerical for the Audi A6 and I can't believe Audi are still using the slogan 'Vorsprung durch Technik'. Seemslike they've used it for years and years. It's the equivilent of Ford still using 'Ford gives you more'. Come on Audi, it's a bit out of date?

  Can anyone tell me how much a 1990 (H) Audi 100 2.0E is worth. It has done 95K. It's with the garage at the moment and will need brake shoes, cylinders, hand-brake cable, rear light cluster, a full service and replacement exhaust front section (and maybe a cat as well) to make it roadworthy.

  I have an N reg 1.8 Audi Avant. Every few months the immobiliser cuts in seconds after starting the car. Taking the key out a few times or turning the key around does the trick. This happens for a few days and then things are fine again for another few months.

  I've been looking at Audis recently and would like to hear comments on their Quattro 4WD system. Taking a car with the same engine (eg the A6 2.4) there seems little benefit in terms of performance (bhp, top speed, 0-60) and a drop of about 5mpg on the Quattro version.

  I'm thinking of buying a used Audi TT. Trouble is, their online reliability index is dreadful. Obviously this is a bit worrying as I am thinking of buying one with about 50K on the clock. I'd be interested to hear any views on the reliability of the TT (good or bad) from any source, particularly current/past owners.

  I am getting poor radio reception on my Audi A4 Avant radio ('Concert')in some areas out of town - the worst so far being in Winterbourne Stoke in Wiltshire on the A303. The dealer has swapped the radio but without improvement and appears baffled.

  Hello all, I have an Audi 80 F-reg, which a couple of weeks ago decided to leak water into the footwells. Any ideas why this is?? The car has no air con and it was a dry day so water wasn't coming in from the out side. I have had a quick look but can't see any leaking pipes and it hasn't done it since.

  I thought of offloading the car because I have been told it's an expensive (£1000 +) repair (for an oldish car) but my low mileage (48,000) persuades me to hang on to it for now. Should I trust an independent repair or is there any strong reason to pay Audi's top whack charges?

  Hi, I've got a 1986 Audi 90, with central locking. It's just gained a *really* annoying habit - whenever you try and open the driver's door from inside, it locks all the doors! Add to that the electric window doesn't wind down, and I have to shuffle out via the passenger door ;) Any hints on how to fix it / check what's wrong?
