Today, the car has only been used only occasionally for classic car runs and shows.
  • A Grand Monday: 1987 Vauxhall Carlton 2 Jan 2018 (News)
As you can see, the Vauxhall looks to be in pretty good condition and a quick check of the car’s MoT history  is revealing. Recent work includes a new fuel tank, cam and timing belts, replacement water pump, a rear brake re-fresh, plus new calipers up front. No 1980s Vauxhall truly escapes the tinworm and this car is no exception. Despite being looked after, it needed new sills and rear wheelarches. It’s also had advisories about suspension component mountings and seatbelt anchoring point corrosion.

  • A Grand Monday: 1979 Volkswagen Passat (B1) project for £800 3 Oct 2016 (News)
The 1.6-litre starts and drives and the gearbox is smooth. But make no mistake - the Passat will need recommissioning with fresh oil, all bushes and the brakes checking. There may also be some welding to be done as well. So if you’re serious about taking on this project you’ll need to go and give it a proper inspection. • Rare ‘barn find’ Aston Martin show car heads to auction 11 Sep 2015 (News)
A striking feature of the rear of the car is the strip of 22 rear lights. The harder the driver pressed the brake pedal the more lights were lit up. The car was built purely for show and was never road-registered. It will require much loving care to bring it back to show condition. A second, fully-functioning car was made for promotional duties (later to be repainted in Embassy colours for use by Graham Hill’s Grand Prix team).
  • Do you need a dash camera? 18 Mar 2015 (News)
A dash camera will also help you avoid ‘cash for crash’ fraudsters – drivers who brake suddenly on purpose to cause a rear-end collision. It’s worth remembering, of course, that the dash camera works both ways – so if you do something stupid or make a mistake it will prove your guilt just as much as it will prove your innocence.
