  Any help please.Fitted a secondhand compressor to air con as original had a gas leak and getting parts to repair down here in Spain is a virtual no go area.Anyway,works fine,better than before apart from a terrible rattle from the clutch when first switched on.Two or four attempts later the noise stops and I can use it all day without probs.The noise is the clutch connecting and releasing at an alarming rate which improves each time you switch off and on again.Had the pressure checked and that is correct and the power supply is not fluctuating?

  Hi, I turned on my air con today for the first time in ages. The problem is is that nothing happened. I checked the fuse, and found that it was quite hot. I also checked the voltage at the clutch, and it was 0v. I then shorted it to +12v very briefly, and measured the voltage again and it read +12v.

  have any of the trade chaps come across *quest auto air con conversion kits* mfd by ef products of dallas? (www.efproducts.com) a friend of mine in the garage trade recently used one of the above to retrofit R12 to 134a on a granada, it involved screwing on a pair of preloaded tubes & injecting in pag oil & addatives to let the mineral oil mix with the new stuff & the 134a (r12 recovered 1st).

  My Peugeot 406 has developed a fault with the air con.  When switched on the air con runs cold but after about 30 seconds the  'stop' message on the control panel flashes and bleeps and the message on the display is 'engine overheating'.  Engine temperature remains normal.

  My heater/air-con comes on full blast every time the engine is on. Can't seem to turn it off. The circular switch doesn't seem to work. Both heater and air con are certainly working, the car is as warm as toast or cool as ice, but I can' t seem to get them to stop!!

  It was freezing cold the other night and the following morning the windscreen was misted up so badly that it took about 15 minutes for the demister to clear it. I thought that air-con had done away with this kind of thing. Any suggestions as to what might be the matter? I've had the car for two previous winters and I've never had this problem before. Also the air-con does appear to be working fine.

  Hi Ive had a rattle in my car for about a year.
