• Ford Fiesta - 2005 Fiesta Clutch or Gearbox Problems - URGENT 16 Jun 2013 (Forum)
  However, the clutch is NOT slipping at all. It goes into gear fine when the engine is not running, which to me indicates a clutch problem When sitting in first gear with the clutch to the floor, the car still judders a bit as if the clutch is still making contact, stick it in neutral and this stops   Its a 1.4 Duratec.

  I changed the oil and filter in my TR7 in 1989 [51,000m], 1993 [56,000]  1997 [58,000] and 2002 [60,800].   It still runs perfectly and I shall change it this year [67,000ish] when it gets a bit warmer.  Let's have a bit of educated common sense here, oil doesn't go 'off'  significantly after a mere 365 days!

  Has anyone else noticed how appallingly noisy many double decker buses are now? Around here the fleet run by FirstBus are rear engined with huge cooling fans behind a grille on the right rear, the fan noise drowns the engine sound as they pull away or grind up the many hills. Years ago I worked on the development of temperature sensing fan drives for heavy trucks, the market for which devices had grown due to noise legislation, based on drive-by tests.

  The car has been running fine for ages but all of a sudden it has lost all power up to about 3thousand revs and struggles to make it up hills, the car is also rocking when it is ticking over. An orange light has come on which I think is the engine light but can't make out the symbol.

  hi all, hope someone has come across this before, have got an astra 2003 1.6 automatic, had a gearbox put in it about 5-6 months ago and it been running ok, parked the car up this evening, left it for about an hour and had to go back out, started the car and went to move the gear shifter and it just moved up and down and did not engage, the car wont move as its stuck in park.

  The allowance stipulates the car must be less than 5 years old and you get paid more the lower the emissions. I currently run a Hyundai I30 that is coming up to five years old and not really big enough. I need a reliable estate but max I can only pay is 5k plus px on the Hyundai. Any advice appreciated.

  She heard a noise in the engine, felt the pedal was a bit funny, ( loosing power i'd say) oil light came on, drove about another mile and finished her journey. Now start the car when its cold it runs fine no lights on, until it heats up a bit  and thins the oil of course, lights on and starts kocking and rattling. Is it worth putting a new oil pump in and seeing if it will sort it out long enough to sell it??

  Car was left 4 weeks while owner away.  Now fuel pump does not run for 1~2 secs when ignition turned on and car will not start .  I have checked the fuse (31) and that the cut-out has not popped. Which is the fuel pump relay please?  (I cannot tell from the Haynes manual.)

  When it is hot it is much worse some times not starting at all. I can get it to start with a little squirt of brake cleaner and then it runs with no problem untill i try to start it again. What is really strange is that I changed the fuel filter housing and it was fine for a few days then slowly developed the fault again. I have also changed the cam sensor.

  not quite sure how to describe this problem - not that i'm intending to try to fix it myself but would be good to go to my mechanic with half an idea of what it might be... basically, the car runs absolutely fine until I'm travelling at highish speed in 4th or 5th gear, when i take the gas off to coast or to slow down, the engine gives little surges and then depowers. It's almost as if there is fuel injected and then cut off - the result is a jerky deceleration.

  I decided to park overnight facing uphill and the car is very difficult to start. Priming puts fuel into the pipe, but it then runs back out. There is a lot of air in the fuel. Is there a none return valve in the fuel feed? Also does anyone have a diagram for the fuel system pipes as I cannot follow them very easily.

  Hi all, I bought a mk5 golf 1.9tdi a few months back and now I'm wondering if anyone knows for sure whether it can run on 100% biodiesel. I have a local company who are offering biodiesel pre-treated and delivered to my door for £1 per litre. My golf is the 105bhp 8v version. So does anyone know whether I can do this?

  Why will my Pacisso 2.0 hdi only run when rail pres sensor disconnected.New pump in tank,PRV in pump tested ok,injectors serviced.Clear fault code p1112,start car,fuel pres 300 bar,rev engine pres upto 700-100 bar,engine cuts out fault code p1112,fuel rail pressure.Unplug rail sensor Car in limp,pres constant 470 bar (default mode )Please please !!!!
• BMW 5 Series E60 - High Battery Drain on Start UP 10 Jul 2012 (Forum)
  Get a "High Battery Drain" on start upon the morning and have lost Bluetooth ability in the car. After running for a couple of minutes the sign goes away and nothing appears in the Fault Finder. Just spent £200 having the car "diagnosed" at a garage to be told they can't find anything wrong. They changed the battery for a new one but the following morning the High Battery Drain re-appeared.

  Budget of around £3-4k so looking for something around 6 or 7 years old that will be solid, reliable and cheap to run/maintain. I know nothing about buying autos (that often get less favourable reviews than their manual equivalent) so any advice on what models to look out for, and also what to check when testing would be greatly appreciated.

• fiesta mk4 zetec - mk4 fiesta heater 4 May 2012 (Forum)
  Ihave felt the water pipes coming up and out the otherside of the heater control valve and they are all hot too. But still have no hot air , also the temp gauge is running on the bottom of normal( don't know if this is anything to do with this problem!) And the water level is fine in the header tank. Any advise gratley appreciate..

  hi ive recently passed my test and bought a fiat punto i knew the power stearing colum was broke before i bought it i payed to get this fixed buy my friend who is a macanic (he sold me the car) it was fine for about a week then the power stearing failed. i dont know anything about cars i know that if you leave the city button on it can cause it to run out so to speak but ive never used it or left it on. will i hve to replace the stearing colum was wondering if anyone could shed some light thanxs :)

  hi my peugeot 206 passenger seat will not recline it will run back and forth on runners and go forward to let people in the back seat but anyone who sits in front has to be laid right back as the handle is jammed i have looked at th other seats and cant see anything different i have tried forcing it with pliers taking seat literally apart but still stuck anyone else had this prob if so how can i resolve it.
