Nissan Micra SE K12 2003 - EPS / Power steering assembly pro 29 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Hi, I had the misfortune to lose battery power and, following a single journey, the 'two strikes and you're out' philosophy' of Nissan cut in and the car became immobilised. Neither I or the AA could bring it back to life so I sent it to the Nissan delaer in Northampton to sort it. -

Chrysler PTCruiser 2003. 2.2CRD - Engine wont start 30 Oct 2011 (Forum)
By that I mean that all the lights on the dashboard come on as the car does its checks, but then when you try to start the engine - nothing. No coughing or spluttering or any sounds of life. It is not a flat battery as been there done that and at least the car tried to start. There is no signs of life at all from the car. Have had diagnostic check done by my garage, but this reveals nothing. I have even called out the AA when the car would not start, but by the time they arrive the engine was cold and it started first time. -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 02 1.6 stalling whilst driving (Automatic) 5 Sep 2011 (Forum)
The only way i have found to keep it going, is when it starts to die, put my foot down on the accelerator, and it will come back to life, but this means flooring it everywhere, and i dont think thats the greatest idea! The alternator and battery are both brand new, ford dont know how to fix it, and have tried to diagnose by putting a new boot sensro in, which hasnt changed anything. Any help or advice, would be greatly appreciated! Thanks again, Steve -
Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.9 diesel, 2005 - PAS goes very stiff in hot weather 26 Aug 2011 (Forum)
I did wonder if the drive belt wasn't driving the auxilliaries (including the steering pump) properly since we recently had to change the battery because it was almost dead flat, but a voltage check from the alternator showed approx. 14v however, at the time, the weather wans't quite so hot and the engine compartment wasn't either. Any ideas? -
Ford Fiesta - Fiesta MK 4 1998 1.3i crazy electrical problems 3 Aug 2011 (Forum)
I recently had the reving problem where one of the sensors plays up and the engine doesn't know when the throttle is open. Basically I cleaned most the connections, unplugged the battery and it went away. Now the strange bit!!! My electrics in the car have gone mental. My back wiper comes on constantky, the blower control makes the strong beam flicker on the windscreen wiper arm does nothing but if I put it in the lowest position the fuse box makes a really loud whine. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 00 2.0 Speedo intermittently dropping to zero 21 Jul 2011 (Forum)
Bought an additional one, and tryed the coding (turn ignition to accessories and click large button then small... then turn off) neither of these worked with new batteries, so not sure if its the receiver's not working or the coding procedure is wrong. Also, im not sure the alarm is on. I locked myself in, and jumped around like mad. No joy. I tried holding the alarm reset button with ignition on accessories, but the lights would not blick, and i still had no joy. -
Part-ex-ing car. Radio needs code. Problem or not? 12 Jun 2011 (Forum)
I've just removed the ipod adaptor from the factory fit stereo as it was something I'd bought seperately and installed.. and I can flog it for a few quid on eBay. Stupidly I disconnected the battery and now the radio is asking for a code which I don't have. It's missing from the manual & not marked anywhere on the actual headunit. Checked the 'get it off the internet' route with no joy. -

ford focus estate,diesel, 1.8litre, 1999 - Engine will not start 15 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Left it to warm up for 5 minutes, got into drivers seat, I touched nothing and the engine died on me. Have fuel in tank and good battery. No fuel leaks anywhere on the engine. Car runs beautifully normally and have never had a provblem with it since I bought it 4 years ago, it has 130K on the clock. I have so far released the fuel pipe on the in side of the filter(rhside of filter). have cranked engine and no fuel from this pipe, I have inserted a tube into the fuel pipe and sucked through fuel so no blockage there. -
Citroen C3 1.4 Diesel - Citroen C3 - Engine Cutting out 16 Nov 2010 (Forum)
However its started to cut out when slowing down to junctions or when the clutch is pressed (usually with radio/blower on). There is zero stuttering, just 100% engine cut off with the battery light illuminated as if I rotated the key off. It only seems to happen at the approach to junctions almost when the clutch is pressed the idle can't cover for the electrics that are on (usually fan / radio etc). -
Vauxhall Corsa B - Corsa B 1.0 fails to start after stall 21 Sep 2010 (Forum)
The car has been stalled a couple of times within a mile or two of starting and both times the engine has failed to start for about 10 mins. I'm happy the battery and starter are good as it cranks strongly - just doesn't catch. The first time I thought the engine might have flooded but the exhaust didn't smoke at all when it eventually started. -
Ford Focus 1.8 zetec- 2001 - red key query 21 Feb 2010 (Forum)
I've had the car 4 years, and this is the first time that I've needed to use the master key. Also it may be nothing but I've changed the batteries in the remote key (now lost) recently. Couple of questions: How am I able to lock the car but unable to unlock it? Can I assume that I have the wrong master key for this car? If I potentially have no keys for this car, is the only option to resolve this issue a visit to a Ford dealer? -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 99 1.9HDi will not start 20 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I took it to a peugeot dealer the diagnostics could not be accessed, they told me a new wiring loom + ecu MIGHT be required (cost £2400.00) When the engine cut out there was no engine mil light on the dash, yet the engine would turn over but would not start. Battery went flat, recharged, now engine mil light on dash, but still will not start. I still have all dash lights, central locking, etc working. I do not want to throw the car away, for what I think is an electrical problem, so I am now tracing the wiring and checking for earth faults. -
Chrysler Voyager (1997 - 2001) - 97 3.3 Laid up for several months, now won't start 28 Aug 2009 (Forum)
I have a Grand Voyager 3.3 auto which has been been off the road for 1 year. Car was occassionally started during this time, most recently 3 months ago. Put a new battery on with the aim of finally getting it MoT'd but cannot start it. All lights are on, immobiliser goes off but the engine doesn't even crank. Strangely, when checking the usual fuses, the Fuel pump fuse blew when replacing it although the ignition was off and key removed. -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 03 2.0 Intermittent starting problem 13 Jun 2009 (Forum)
If you switch off and try again, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't. Nothing wrong with the battery from my reckoning because when it does fire, it starts first time. It's been like this for sevral weeks now only failing once or twice before starting - so I just thought that the ECU was not "ready" or something ....... -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 2004 1.8TDCi Strange noise - not the usual squeal. 24 Mar 2009 (Forum)
It doesn't increase, (either in volume or intensity), when the engine is revved and usually disappears after 20 seconds or so. It is coming from the drivers side of the engine around where aux belt etc is. The battery light has stayed on once and very occasionally the engine revs fluctuate by up to 200rpm either side of idle. The revs only fluctuate while the noise is going on and settles once the noise has stopped. -
Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 96 1.3 Help before I try to change oil press light 8 Dec 2008 (Forum)
My plans are as follows:- 1) Remove screws from the instrument panel 2) Prise the instrument panel cover off careful freeing the fog and rear heater switches 3) Remove instrument panel 4) Replace defective bulb 5) Try and put everything back Will I need ot disconnect the battery? Am I likely to get into complications while doing this? Free spelling upgrade and subject line tweak -
Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 06 1.8 - Undriven for 3 Months 21 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Good practice would have been to take this car out at least once a week to at keep things ticking over and lubricated I've already been told that the battery is flat which may necessiate a new one - I'm ready for that. However, my concerns are more around whether the brakes/gears/wheel bearings or something worse may have seized up. I've no mechanical expertise so wonder whether it's worth paying for a full RAC vehicle check. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 97 1.4 Intermittent struggling to pull until warm 19 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Then one evening both headlight bulbs had blown. The next day the car wouldn't start at all. The starter motor was trying and the battery was ok but the engine wasn't catching. It started a few days later and I drove 4 miles to the garage keeping it on very high revs and avoiding going up hill to prevent it stalling. After about 3 miles it was running pretty normally.
