  I'm guessing it's the switch, but this being my first canbus wired car, am slightly nervous about testing it, or disconnecting anything in case I blow something up. My plan was to disconnect the battery, unplug and remove the switch, and then perform a simple continuity test to pinpoint the fault, or eliminate the switch. I want to make extra sure, as it looks like the complete heater control panel is one piece, and I dread to think how much Renault will charge for it.

  We have done the following eliminations Charged Battery  Removed & Dismantled Starter and rebuilt it. Striped and Cleaned EGR Fitted New Plugs   Checked Coil Pack and all four are sparking Still not wanting to run, when we turn it over it chugs away but won’t take throttle and dies.

  Yes, despite silly adverse comments by unenlightened bloggers  I've found the engine to be very lively and crisp, road holding and general performance is exemplary and the range of electronic features staggering. As well as telling me if a tyre pressure is low -  it even tells me when the battery in my key fob is low. My last car was a  3 Litre V6 Toyota Camry which I once thought was the bees knees in comfort and enjoyable motoring. Well surprisingly I don't miss the Camry at all.

  I gave it a bit more revs than usual for the first few minutes of my journey after that it behaved normally. I had left the car since Saturday morning and not moved it since, it didn’t seem like a battery issue as it kept cranking although I am not an expert so I could be entirely wrong. I am a little worried what it might be as I need the leave the car at the airport for 5 days and I’m worried it might not start when I get back to it.

   Does anyone know what would be causing this? I have recently had to have a new alternator and battery (these went separately to the above problem) but this issue was present before and after these were changed.  I have also been told that I will need a new clutch soon so the biting point of the car at present is high, would that cause the above problem?

  Another possible clue is that the electric windows are suddenly not working.. So in summary: Key fob not working (battery is fine and no difference with spare either) Alarm went off after locking with key fob but no flashing lights Electric windows not working Nothing else noticed so far Red alarm light continually flashing on drivers door but alarm not going off when I get in the car and it starts up fine...........

  The main display is blank, the radio has stopped working, the dash display lights have ceased working, the mileometer has gone off, the speedometer & rev counter froze at the speed / revs that I was doing when the fault appeared. (we've disconnected the battery & this reset the speedo & rev counter but now they just show at zero during a journey). The lights, indicators, wipers, central locking & alarm all work fine. The indicators make the clicking noise but the light on the dash isn't on.

  Ive just swapped an engine in a Kia Sedon 2.9 CRDi, 2004 reg. Everything is in and seems fine, good compression, good fuel prssure, strong battery etc. problem is the injectors arent opening. They are the originial injectors in the original locations so its not a coding issue. I have had a noid light in the injector wiring plugs and there is nothing at all.

  Hi took my car out and it started as normal drove to petrol station and after puttin petrol in the car wouldnt start again. I tried a jump start as i thought i was the battery that didnt work and bump jump start it nearly turned over but the hill was 2 small and was full of snow and ice so wasnt able to get it back up the hill. I got it recovered to my house the recovery man said it was an unexplained electrical fault but he didnt really have a clue!

  Most recently i called the RAC out, he put the jump leads on and it started straight away, in his opinion it was the battery, he was going to check properly but that meant turning the engine off and risking the car not starting again.   My 1997 2.7 TDI Terrano / Maverick intermittently refuses to start . I have changed the starter motor and the glow plugs and had a heavy discharge test done on the battery. The engine cranking speed never has been spectacular but after the first few turns of the engine it slows to virtually nothing. The last dealer to look at the problem said a new alternator was required as the output was low.

    She drove it here, I got it in the garage, knocked it off and its done the same thing. The inside lights look dim, I have tried putting the charger on the battery and it seems full, it has a standing voltage of nearly 13v. I have found an auto electrician who can have a look at it but I need to get it started again. Any help on getting it going or what if could be would be gratefully received.

  I have at present a Fiat Panda Duallogic which will be 3 yrs old in Oct, I found out yesterday they are no longer doing this gearbox as an option in the Panda, it was standard in the model I chose, I love it, salesperson forgot to tell me you need to put it into reverse each time you start it up to get it going so it was a very jumpy ride home which is probably how the battery had come adrift next day when I went to start it the thing was dead, was ready to return it at that point but gave it another go and glad I did. Now I need to find another car that works as well with a similar price tag etc.

  Hi All, I have had starting problems with my Voyager (2.5 VM engine). 3 days ago I replaced the glow plugs, started instantly. 24 hours later wouldn't start and flattened the battery. Cracked injectors, lots of fuel. Jumped from other car span over and over for ages, plumes of smoke from exhaust, Unburnt diesel I guess, then for no reason eventually fired up. If used within a few hours, will start OK, leave it for 4-6 hours, same again NON START.

  It appeared not to be taking any charge from the booster car, but still wouldn't start so I presume battery is OK. I checked the oil (paranoia) and I had overfilled. I have managed to remove a super tight sump drain plug and the level is now 3/4 the way to max. Also appears to be having remote key unlock / lock problems.
