  I remember having probs with it when I bought it last year.....didn't read the handbook but eventually got it switched off and got the air con to work. With the Econ button on the air isn't cold enough...Is this an indication that it needs re-gassing or some other fault ? If it needs re-gassing, where can I go to get a good and cheap job done - not too keen on main dealers prices.

  Hi, Astra Club - R-reg For some reason all of the switches below the heater fan controls (air recirculation, air con and heated rear window) have all suddenly stopped working as has the actual heating (i.e. turning the heater temperature control has no effect). The fan control still works fine.

  Audi say they don't do a roof rack because its the glass roof version. Audi say they can't fit a tow bar because his A2 hasn't got air conditioning!!*. CAN ANYONE RECOMMEND A SOURCE OF RACK OR BAR, PLEASE. (They could fit air-con and a tow bar but not just the bar) could Thanks Richard

  The short version of a long story is this. My Local Ford main dealer has proved the gas system and compressor to be fine. Local auto air-con expert had the aircon working by shorting across pressure switch connector, but new pressure switch didn't make any difference. The general concensus is that it's the relay. This is where it gets interesting!

  How much would I get as a trade in on a 55 plate Nissan Almera 1.5S with only 37,000 miles on the clock, a full service history and finished in metallic silver? Downsides which could affect resale are non functioning air con and a considerable number of scratches and scuffs caused by being parked on the street.

  I've got a '96 405 diesel which, although the power steering works, it's still very heavy. I don't know where to start with this one. The air-con isn't working either, so I don't know whether the two are connected. Otherwise, it's still a brilliant piece of kit!

  i have suddenly started to see small traces of water leaking from the radiator of my 97 vw passat. can anybody recomend a tempary fix for this cooling system, and how easy /hard is it to change the radiator on this car, bare in mind it is the modle with air con. can any body please help.

  It starts fine, but intermittently, I have electrical failure affecting everything bar the radio and hazards ie no indicators, air con, wipers etc. If i switch the engine off and fire it up again, everything is OK. Thoughts please.

  1996 Espace 2.0 petrol with air-con. Something in the back of my mind tells me one of the backroomers was involved with changing one of these heaters (last year?). I know the book time is 7hrs and the dash has to come out. Guess it's going to be a major pig whichever way you look at it.

  Does anyone have any first hand experience of one of these ? 1994 'L', low mileage. It all sounds really good. 2.4 turbo diesel, 4 wheel drive (switchable), air con, swivel seats, seats 8, comes with a warranty etc... Or are there any known troublespots with these. Any advice would be most grateful.

  I have recently aquired a 306 TD 3 years old in September and 43K. The air con has stopped working and have found that the compressor has will not cut in due to low gas pressure. A visit for re-gasing revealed a leak from behind one of the rubber mounts holding the pipe from the compressor to the lower front panel.

  I have taken it into two different Ford dealers on 5 occasions who, despite being told how to ensure the creaking occurs (keep in shade and put air con on full for 10 minutes before taking it out on the road), have not managed to fix it. I personally doubt that they have tried very hard. On one occasion the dealer indicated that the wiring would be very tight and loosening it should solve it, but then did nothing with the car.

  Have been to the local Nissan agent and have tried to resolve but the rattle seems to be coming from the roof of the glove box. I am not sure if it something to do with the air con that is contained in the glove box... Thank you   CGH

  I've checked it over the last two weeks and the level only drops and the warning light comes on if I've used the air con. Any ideas? P.S this is my first post.

  Probably want to hire a car either to collect at the airport for the 2 weeks or in the resort for 5 days, haven't decided which yet. Has anybody any recommendations or 'stay clears'. Only need something like a Corsa/Polo although air-con would probably be nice. Thanks

  Afternoon - Looking for a car £2500 - £3000. Must be under 1.5 for the Tax, be 5 doors, lowish mileage and have Air Con and CD player. So far I got it to the Almera and Ibiza but looking at both I'm not keen on how the Ibiza drives or how the Almera's looks. Not sure on a 206 with being a Pug and owning one for 8 years.

  Is she better getting a brand new budget model Dacia, Checvrolet etc.. nearly new citroen C1, fiat 500 or slightly older ford ka, toyota ka. Really interested to hear your thoughts re, pros and cons. her only reuquirement is it needs be no bigger than her cuirrent KA and idealy to have air con. Also what the best vakue way to get rid of the KA - PX, scrap, webuyanycar??
