Astra heater,aircon,rear window switches - 3kidsandamortgage
Hi,
Astra Club - R-reg
For some reason all of the switches below the heater fan controls (air recirculation, air con and heated rear window) have all suddenly stopped working as has the actual heating (i.e. turning the heater temperature control has no effect). The fan control still works fine.

Does anyone have any clues as to what could cause all of these to stop at the same time. I've checked fuses and there's no problem there.

Any suggestions welcome before I take it to a garage.

From what you're saying, it sounds like an electrical connector has become disconnected behind the panel - ie, why the switches aren't working, and something has come loose - ie, why the temp control knob isn't working.

No idea on how to remove the panel to look behind it though.

I did have a look behind the panel last night but couldn't find anything out of place. I've read elsewhere that other people have suffered the same failure but no-one has posted a solution yet. I've read a hint that it might be linked with an ignition switch problem but I'm not sure how to check this.
