VW Golf GT TDI pd (115) - Juddering 3 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Cost to replace £519 including labour. I now have the car back and have 2 other problems 1) At Idle it is very rough to the point of stalling 2) when travelling at low speeds e.g 20 -30mph, when slowing down and driving at these constant speeds the car tends to 'kangaroo'. -

Should it and is there anything that I should beware of? as there is an old phrase that 'you get what you pay for'! Many thanks for all advice! -

1999 Peugot 306 estate belonging to our neighbour. 6 year old son was sent to collect sweets from the glovebox of the unlocked car, next thing that happens is a big bang as the Passenger side Airbag explodes. Result 2 broken bones in left wrist as he is apparently pushed upwards into windscreen. -
Ford diesel 1600 problem 3 Jan 2002 (Forum)

Overheating Peugeot 405 18 Sep 2001 (Forum)
Within a minute or two, the fan cuts in and continues to do so constantly until the car is moving again, when it quickly returns to its normal temperature. This may not sound disastrous but is not standard behaviour for this car. I have changed the radiator (this cured a similar problem a number of years back, and it was a bit rotten), checked the thermostat and flushed the cooling system but the problem remains. -

There appears to be no damage to their car, maybe some fine wrinkles on the chromed bumper, it was a nine year old Fiat 500, mine is a 2018 Polo bought new! -

Renault Clio - Made mistake buying car 15 Feb 2013 (Forum)
2. There are very wet patches in the boot and under the front passenger seat, so it seems the car leaks water seriously. The car is not very rusty so I imagine the front leak is probably the sunroof? Not sure about the boot, can't see obvious entry point for water. The car came with a 28 day warranty but I'm quite sure neither of those two items are going to be covered. -
Ford/Toyota/Honda?VW?? - Family Car selection 26 Jan 2013 (Forum)
hi all, i am totaly confused which car to get, Follwoing an accident my Toyota Avensis T3-x D4-D written off, and i am now looking at a new car, Third party yet didn't accept the liability so i am looking for a car with lower insuarance as my premium will go up at least for next six months, we are parents with a 15months old baby, so a car should be able to carry a big push chair along with shopping, so a decent size boot is a must, I will be using this care for 85% motorway drives which will ve 70 miles a day. and in town for weekends. -
Honda Accord Coupe 2.2 N Reg - 2 questions about brakes. 27 May 2012 (Forum)
Hi jut bought this car 2days ago as my old car died, anyway. The car had been sat for just under 10 weeks unused with a cover over it but outside. All the discs had surface rust which after a few miles was quickly removed but the rear right continually makes a noise every rotation like a clicking noise the rust hasn't fully come of this disc and it appears to be wearing off unevenly. -
Re-occurring defect 9 Jun 2010 (Forum)
Last year my daughter bought a 10 year old car from a dealer, all seemed well for a while then the head gasket started weeping into one of the cylinders causing rough running 'til the water had been cleared. The dealer took the car back and replaced the head gasket (I assume) and all was well for the last six months. -
BMW 7-Series E38 (1994 - 2001) - 00 2.8 What would cause a car to lean to one side 25 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Then i thought worn out shock absorbers, rear 2 are new, front 2 are old. The front offside could be sagging down i guess, but i'd expect the car to list down on that corner rather than the whole side, esp given rear shock is new. Other points maybe worth noting: had the car 3d laser aligned but the dealer couldn't get the camber in spec, as a result the car pulls to the left. -
Volkswagen Golf VI (2009 - ) - 'Like a Golf' advert 16 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Now the exterior shots of the car, though not revealing much, are of a BMW 1-Series, but I'm pretty sure the interior shots are of the latest Honda Civic. I can't really make out the other cars in the ad. Do other manufacturers get bothered about having their cars featured as second-rate in other firm's ads? -
Police still hunting for a Daewoo Nexia 26 Feb 2008 (Forum)
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/surrey/7264563.stm Detectives also renewed their appeal for help in tracing a red Daewoo Nexia( originally red) Vehicle registration, N503 GLT, and chassis number, KLATF68V1SB554108, They have also asked anyone who owns a Daewoo Nexia in any colour to check the chassis number as the registration plate may have been changed and the car may have been re-sprayed. Anyone who owned such a car in the last six years is also being urged to check for these details on their old MOT certificates and other car documents. It is also possible that the car may have been scrapped, destroyed or placed in storage, and police have appealed to anyone working in scrap dealerships or other vehicle-related businesses to check their records since 2002 for any mention of the car. -
Perception of quality - Standing the test of time 27 Aug 2007 (Forum)
It does focus on the old v new mercs as well and the fact that they never used to try and provide the wow factor but concentrated more on making cars that work for ever (slight exaggeration) without wearing out ala W124's etc. -
99 Laguna Category D write off - avoid? 29 Oct 2006 (Forum)
I have spoken to the vendor, who seems genuine enough, and he has a good, albeit low, feedback score. I don't know why but I did an HPI check on the car today and it has come back that the car was a category D write off in August 1999, i.e. when it was just 5 months old. The seller has told me he knew nothing about the cars history and will speak to me tomorrow after he has spoken to the chap he bought it from (he does a bit of buying and selling cars on ebay by the looks of it). -
UK Car abroad more or less permantly 23 Feb 2006 (Forum)
I spend about half my time in Budapest where cars are much more expensive than in the UK.Import duties are very high and it is quite a complicated procedure. I am currently exploring many options but keep running into the same questions and can't find the answers to them- 1)Is there any insurance company that insures a UK car abroad for more than a three month period? -
Car insurance 26 Oct 2005 (Forum)
I would be grateful for advice on whether or not I ought to declare a motorcyle theft claim when seeking car insurance? I am a 21 year old student and have just passed my test so insurance for my vw beetle is going to cost! I moved onto cars because I had my motorcycle stolen last year. The police caught the cuprit and are prosecuting them and as I had done nothing wrong I claimed and was paid out for the bike(less a retention of £500!). -
Buying an S Class Benz 10 Aug 2004 (Forum)
Why would you sell a 4-5 year old S Class at auction and not through a dealer or whatever? What other ways are there to buy this sort of car for this sort of money? It may be up to a year before the car is bought (Depending on circumstances) and a W or later plate example would be prefferable for private plate reasons.
