  My Pajero only likes BP diesel. Put anything else in and the engine management light comes on and the engine gets a "diesel" rattle. When I tour the remoter parts of Scotland I usually take 2x 10 litre steel cans with extra diesel which gives me longer range between fill-ups - but my new(ish) VW Touareg has a "misfuel prevention" device in the fuel filler which requires a 25mm nozzle, no more no less - this is the size that all car and HGV diesel pumps are in UK so not a problem at the filling station but my existing spare fuel cans have nozzles which are too small to operate the misfuel device.

  Hi, I have a ford fiesta 1.8 LX Diesel 1993. I ran out of fuel so filled up with a few cans of diesel , wouldnt start though. So i primed the hand pump quite a few times and nothing.
