  Colour was a metallic blue, (not light blue or dark blue). Is this a common problem for the Audi A3 paintwork for a car of this vintage or is it more of a problem with this particular colour? I cannot recall any other A3`s having so many paint chips.

  Audi say take it in to the dealer every time I need to change. Apart from the costs, the practicalities of this are ridiculous. Can you help? Great car by the way.

  On each occasion the car is towed the the Audi dealer where it starts and runs perfectly, with no fault codes logged. It's just done the whole winter without missing a beat, but just started playing up again with the recent hot weather. Any ideas?

  If the car was still under warranty must you use a dealership or can you use an independent as long as they use Audi/VW genuine parts or would this nil and void the warranty? Has anybody any suggestions it must be in the Glasgow area

  Anyone know if you can fit higher profile tyres / rims to as Audi S4 Avant 2018? Back issues prevent use of 19" ones . Hopefully the dealer might oblige as people normally want the opposite...? Any other thoughts on this car as a comfortable safe fast long term buy

  Hi, I see that the VAG parts website has closed down. Does anyone know where I could order a control arm kit for an '99 Audi A4 1.9TDI? Are the spurious ones as good as the original parts that the VAGPARTS.CO.UK website used to sell? THANKS!

  I recently acquired a Audi 2.0Tdi . My mechanic informs me that I should have went for the 1.9Tdi model instead as the engine was far more reliable. Anybody have any experiences to back up this claim?

  Either the credit crunch isn't as bad as it's being portrayed or some Audi dealers remain too idle to survive it.   Hi, Does anyone know where I can locate the CO2 emissions details for a 2000 Audi A6 1.8T SE? It isn't listed in the V5 doc. I can't estimate it as I don't know what the current VED is. Thanks.

  My Audi A4 Avant, 1999, has a squeaky steering column and the main dealer requires silly money to replace it! Does it have a grease nipple or similar to get over a simple but annoying problem? {added year to the subject title, and turned down the VOLUME!}

  Centre box on my 97 A8 Quattro needs replacing. Audi only part apparantly, numerous exhaust outlets cannot get supply, so ordered the part myself for one of them to fit. £350 for just the centre section and sleeves -- outrageous. Why is the part not copied like 90% of the other car makers?

  Noticed a foreign registered Audi Estate in the car park at Goodwood yesterday, nothing like anything I have seen for sale, did not have time to give it a close inspection. Perhaps something to look forward to in the near future. Goodwood gets better and better each year.

  AUDI A4 SE 2001 Multitronic 41Kmiles, has Oil level low indicator (Orange oil can symbol) ( not Oil pressure = RED oil can) displayed when dip stick says full? All ideas with regards to the oil level sensor operation (how it works) and its location would be gratefully received.

  I have just bought the wife a 1995 Audi 80E. (2.0) Starts good but runs a bit lumpy when idling. Accelerate hard and it pulls like a train and doesn't miss a beat keep the revs above 2500 all good. let it labour a bit and it starts running rough and missing.

  I have a audi A4 1.8 SE and sometimes the clutch peddle seems to stick and not return properly, i have had to put my foot under the pedal to pull it back up i have tried to have a look under the car but can't see much I think it has a hydraulic clutch, has anyone got any ideas what this could be?

  HJ refers to the Nissan automatic gearbox on the X-Trail as a torque converter CVT in the CCBD.Can anyone explain the difference between this type of gearbox and the Audi Multitronic, which is also a CVT? The Audi automatics are very economical. Is the Nissan less economical because of the torque converter? Any suggestions on what large automatic estate to go for which is particularly economical - eg Audi A6 Multitronic 2.5 diesel.

  Sorry if this might be more appropriate for discussion. I'm vaguely toying with the idea of an Audi 100 2.8 that I've seen, looks pretty good and is pretty cheap. I seem to recall that this car had the 2.8 litre VW VR6 for the first couple of years of production. If I'm right, this would be chain driven (a big plus on a luxobanger).
