  • Skoda Octavia - 1.9PD injectors 2 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Hi, I've been thinking of buying an approx two year old 1.9PD Octavia and have read about injector issues on recent VAG diesel engines. There's been some debate on HJ and other forums about whether Siemens or Bosch injectors are fitted to recent 1.9PD units.
  • Peugoet 407 Coupe 2.7 V6 HDi - Peugeot 407 Coupe - Yes/No? 15 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Looking to change my car and fancied something with a bit of power and slightly sporty. Have seen a 3 year old 407 Coupe 2.7 V6 HDi Sport Auto for sale. Any comments on the reliability or running of this model and engine combo?
  • Noisy Honda Gearbox 13 Apr 2011 (Forum)
The gearbox on my year old 2.4 Accord (6 speed) seems quite noisy, it's not a bearing whining type noise, but you can hear the motions of the box inside the car coming up through the gearlever. The noise is not pronounced but I can hear a sort of whooshing until the engine revs rise over it.
  • Drive the deal and dealer finance 1 Oct 2010 (Forum)
Hi, We have pretty much made the decision to by a new S-Max as our old Galaxy has given up the ghost and although I have always been wary of financing cars, I am willing to do it for the peice of mind of a new, warrantied car. After shopping around, it would appear that Drive the deal have the best prices on these and I have done some searching around and understand the principal of how DTD works.
  • How about some positives for a change 16 Feb 2010 (Forum)
Toyota, with their recalls, BMW, Ford and many others are getting bad press and comments from many. How about some positives for a change? My old CLK has done 40k for me in 2.5 years and is approaching 120k. It's had normal servicing from an indie and apart from discs and pads has been good as gold. Its seems cars are like Caesar with the bad remembered and the good forgotten.

  • Volkswagen Golf V (2004 - 2008) - 04 1.9D Rear Wheel Bearings 8 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Anyone else had rear wheel bearings changed? I've had a droning noise increasing with speed and gradually getting worse. Whilst the car was in for a cambelt change as 4+ years old but only 38K miles, asked garage to investigate noise....they reported both rear wheel bearings require changing....quoted 500 notes. Talking with parts dept. of my local VW garage, they seemed to imply that this is a fairly frequently used part (rear hub assy), with units even being replaced under warranty.
  • Ford KA, KA2, KA3 (1996 - 2008) - 05 1.3 ABS rear drum sensor ring question. 5 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Have ford given me the wrong part or is something amiss. At present the abs light is on due to no signal from the rear sensors. Will the old style ring fit my car or does the abs work differently on the later cars. There are 2 different electrical sensors listed for pre and post 2004. Any help gratefully received.
  • Hyundai Getz (2002 - 2008) - key problems 21 Feb 2009 (Forum)
Hi, My wife and I have remote door keys for our 3 year old Getz [recently purchased]. We like the car very much but have an odd problem which is that, due to the press button being on the side of the key, it sometimes gets accidentally pressed when it is in my wife's bag and when this is being moved around but it also occasionally happens to me when I accidentally press the button when putting the key in my pocket.

I know on a PC if the voltage drops or increases only slighlty it can cause all sorts of problems yet on cars it seems to vary widly.
  • Crazy motorway driving 24 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Joined the M67 (Denton-Hyde-Mottram Cheshire; only 5 bmiles long) from the M60 last night. Old Polo in front (lady driver) decides to overtake car in front of it on the slip road but as it gets level with nearside car it slows down to the same speed. Result both lanes blocked. 300 metres later when there are 3 lanes I overtake Polo and then pull into N/S lane.

  • Options for over stocked main dealers. 12 May 2008 (Forum)
He has has told me that one of the options they are considering is dumping all their old stock and re-entering the market aggressively marking down all bids - he is bidding at the moment on the basis of what he feels the car would be worth in 2 months as sales are so slow at the mo anyway.
  • Customer survey 17 Nov 2007 (Forum)
They then abruptly ended the call, saying the car was outside the age parameters of the survey, after confirming the details in the early stages of the call. I know I'm a suspicious ole git, but can anyone throw any light on what's going on?
  • Chrysler 300C (2005 - ) - 'Horrendous' depreciation, Volume 2. 28 Oct 2007 (Forum)
Months and months go by and the pleasure from owning & driving Arnie is as good as ever. Also rather splendid is the residual values that the car is carrying. This article http://tinyurl.com/2qlo8o makes mention that a 2 year old 300C CRD with 30000 miles on it is worth 67% of what the owner paid, which given the doom and gloom that the motoring trade / motoring press said when the car was launched, is one in the eye.
