  • Any - Which car? 31 Jul 2024 (Forum)
Would want to keep the car for several years, reliability, good warranty and decent mpg important - currently getting 60mpg from our diesel Peugeot. Appreciate electric different and would consider an EV but not sure where to start. Not entitled to any workplace scheme for those. We need decent space due to dog/holidays/hobbies etc. Hate paying interest if possible and would prefer to own rather than lease.
  • C4, 208, Clio, Octavia diesels euro 6 auto - Ultimate MPG for used diesel euro 6 automatic 5 Jun 2024 (Forum)
I've read quite a lot online about PSA's bluehdi diesels, I see the Citroen C4 bluehdi returns great mpg, likewise the Peugeot 208 1.6 bluehdi. Also I've heard the Skoda Octavia and Renault Clio 1.5 return great mpg  What's the ultimate when it comes to MPG?  Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you

  • What is the most badge-engineered car ever? 21 Mar 2021 (Forum)
Interestingly, according to Wikipedia article, the ADO16 was known in Denmark as the Morris Marina, pre-dating the use of that name for the rear-drive Morris Marina announced in the early 1970s. I guess that the most badge-engineered current production car is the Toyota Aygo / Peugeot 107 / Citroen C1. Platform sharing seems to be more the fashion these days, as with VW / Seat / Skoda.

  • Homepage / Latest Reviews - no new content 20 Aug 2020 (Forum)
but scrolling down the new A3 Sportback review, I was amused to see that included as one of its top three rivals is the Peugeot 308 (alongside the Mazda3 and the Merc A-Class), but the BMW 1 Series isn’t even mentioned! Can’t see too many people who want a German ‘premium’ badge settling for a Pug 308.
  • Van reliability information 13 Aug 2019 (Forum)
Economy to approach 40  mpg on a run if possible. the obvious choice VW transporter appears overpriced and not reliable. Difficult to get reliable information on reliability!  Peugeot expert/ Toyota proace looks good as does Ford transit custom. But IV no experience of which van might be the best  option, but I've pretty much ruled out the VW, not being good value and full of issues.

  • Toughest car ever made 4 Oct 2016 (Forum)
I've been in a Nissan Bluebird 2.0dLX with over 1m miles on its original engine, a Mk II Granada 2.5DL with more than 750k, Isuzu engined Cavaliers with 500k upwards, a Peugeot E7 HDI with 850k and I've sold a Toyota Carina 2.0 XLd with 452k which was running and driving fine. There's a small dealer local to me selling a 1990 Mercedes 250D in poverty spec with low miles that is tempting me to open my wallet.
  • ? - What family car 18 May 2016 (Forum)
Hi We recently sold our nissan juke and bought a peugeot 308. We have now discovered we are going to have another child and feel that the 308 os to cramp in the cabin for two adults and two kids, we also miss the height of the juke to an extent. We are looking for something bigger and are torn between an suv and an estate and are looking to spend around 9-10k as we will have negative equity from the pug going on to any finance.

  • Used estate/MPV economical to run? 3 Apr 2013 (Forum)
I know it's a big ask but I'm so confused as the more I have researched, the more conflicting views I'm getting from reviews/forums etc so I'm hoping to get some more expert opinions. So far I've looked at Fabias, Scenics, Picassos, Focus' and all of the Peugeot sw's I'm most eager for something economical to run and thinking of a diesel but I definitely need room for the dog. I can always get a trailer or roofbox for the luggage/camping stuff. TIA Kassandra

  • Good Second car? 17 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Hi all I finally passed my test last year and picked up a V reg 306 1.4,. I'd loved 306s since I was a kid and despite a few niggling, typical Peugeot promblems with the car absolutely love it, it's comfortable, great fun to drive, feels a lot faster than it is due to the low seating position and makes a lovely little growl at high speeds.   I'm already saving up for something a bit better though, and should have about 2.5k to spend within the year.
