  I have long been toying with the idea of having a fun 2nd car, mainly for weekend/evening blasts I have a budget of around £5k, and would like to keep 4 seats and a bit of boot space for trips to France/Belgium etc. I have (I think) narrowed it down to either a Saab 9-3 Viggen convertible, or a volvo C70 2.3 T5 Cabriolet..... Does anybody have any real world experience of these cars? They seem like cracking value for the money (esp. the Volvo), and £5k would buy me 02/03 example with reasonable miles.

  I've since read nasty stories about how these gases can muck up your system so I've decided to take the plunge and go for a conversion. Do you know if a kit is available for the Volvo 360 as well as any new parts that might be needed. The dealer will only do the compressor as an exchange item. The acummulator/drier and the evaporator and condensor are no longer available from Volvo.

  The Peugeot would be given to us free and we could sell either car and keep the money. The Peugeot has 60k and the Volvo 70k on the clock. Volvo ------- - Small amount of rust blistering in petrol cap and gutters - Judder at arond 70mph on some road surfaces (suspect Kwik Fit didnt adjust the tracking so well when they fitted my new tires last year as the wear appears uneven) - Some loss of power sinec I first got the car 3 years ago.

  I have a Volvo V70 D5. Can someone confirm if there is a diesel fuel filter in the engibe bay, and if so, where is it? Or does the car only have a diesel filter near the fuel tank? My car has done 115,000 and as I am changing the other filters I wanted to change the diesel filter too.

  It's a '94 T5 Volvo 850. A friend parked it up last night, and now it won't start. It cranks ok, and he can smell petrol at the exhaust, but doesn't fire. Any common problems he can look at in the morning, before I have to go out to him with a trailer?

  Can anyone provide details , or even better a photo/diagram, of the location of the oil pressure switch on the D5 engine. I have had a look at the Volvo dvd technician manual , but it shows it low down on the front of the block near the front engine mounting, which has a blanking plug fitted on the car I am looking at.   He claims that he had a number of such incidents and it was to do with the low fuel level ( there was 22litres in the tank)and the car on an incline which caused the engine to gulp air. Volvo dealer denies any knowledge of such an incident.

  Other forums suggest replacing the drive shaft bolts with the XC90 ones as they have a rubber gromitt which minimise the vibration/noise. However, my local Volvo dealer argues that this is not the prescribed fix, instead they suggest the removal of the drive shaft and a replacing a washer and installing a new bolt at the cost of £120. Any advice?
