  • TBD - What next (after a Volvo XC40) 24 Jun 2024 (Forum)
Heated steering wheel Available as MHEV / PHEV and with a real world MPG >40 Front and rear parking sensors with camera view (inc 360 birds eye view) Auto dimming headlights, rain sensing wipers Blind spot indicators (usually in the door mirrors) Adaptive Cruise Control Pilot Assist (hands free steering for short periods, car keeps in lane) Remote climate conditioning (warm up before getting in) Multi mode drive train including snow mode  From my research, there's not much around (e.g. Mazda CX30 does not have Pilot Assist, Climate Conditioning  or memory positions for drivers seat) and we might be best to keep the XC40 at end of lease (~£24K balloon payment),  what do other forum members think?

  • Used tall car for tall driver 28 Apr 2018 (Forum)
We didn't initially fancy an MPV but I sat in a Ford S-Max yesterday and it did seem more roomy and comfortable and the visibility was a lot better than the Cross/SUVs we tried (Mazda CX-5, Qashqai, VW Touareg, Ford Kuga etc).  Is this the best of the MPV bunch for comfort and space? what else should I be looking at? Are there any manufacturers in particular that are designed for larger drivers or have a reputation to have sufficient adjustment to accommodate larger drivers that I should try?
  • Car Advice, budget circa 3.5K 6 Apr 2018 (Forum)
I'd really appreciate any help, as 2 hours a day I'm trawling through tonnes of cars ending up none the wiser.   My mums gifted me some money to purchase a car, I've been looking at mazda, fiesta, focus (and others I’ve deleted since reading) - oh and diesel which I think after reading the thread is a no no although not sure why, but I appreciate your advice. Whilst I can go up to 4k I don't earn a good wage and I'm worried if something goes wrong the credit card will need to come out - I'm sure I'm still paying for repair work on a corsa from 3 years back!
  • Volvo V40 - Alternatives to a Volvo V40 18 Nov 2017 (Forum)
I have suggested a Focus (he thinks its too much of a family car), a Civic (maybe but prefers not to follow me), Astra (doesnt want to go back to VX after his old Corsa), Mazda 3 (just doesnt appeal), Kia/Hyundai SUV (had one on day hire didnt like it). To be fair none of these is really in the BMW/Volvo sector and just a tad dull I suspect. Probably the next step is to consider the VW group offerings, maybe a Leon?
