Peugeot 206 Pollen Filter 4 Jun 2003 (Forum)
I recently took my wife\'s 2 year old 206 back to the main dealer for its first bi-annual service. The oil and filter were changed but the air and pollen filters were not. When I asked about these I was told that they did not require replacement. -
Cheap Zafira 10 May 2003 (Forum)
We have just taken delivery of a pre 2003 1/2 facelift at 10,600 OTR . The whole tranaction was carried out totally efficiently and we are delighted to have a car at £1400 less than Vauxahlls "special" internet price. A main dealer in London told us that it must be an import at that price. The dealers here are asking 9k for 3 year old ones !! No connection with B4C but have not seen a deal anywhere near this elsewhere just a very happy customer PS Honest John on your list of brokers today no mention of Vauxhalls under B4C! -

Passat Electrics failure 25 Feb 2003 (Forum)
My 3 year old passat first showed signs of problems when the interior lights stopped working. This has now been followed by the power windows, wing mirrors, central locking and finally the car alarm kept going off. -
question is, new or used 23 Feb 2003 (Forum)
In need of an estate and although I'm open to suggestions, my current choice is a new (discounted) passat 1.8t from vw main dealer for around 16.5k - some great passat deals at the moment. Or a 2 ish year old V70 either 2.4T if possible but may need to be the 170bhp model for around the same money. Plan is to keep the car for a few years (5 or more). I guess it's a tough choice most of us face, but any advice on costs, benefits, good/bad of either welcome, like wise any suggestion for any other estate I've overlooked. thanks, KW -

MAZDA RX8 18 Jan 2003 (Forum)
I'd be interested to know what the reliability is likely to be and whether there are any inherent problems or prohibitive costs associated with the rotary unit. Seem to remember the old RX7 had a Wankel rotary engine and people raved about it. Anyone got any more info ? -
Teletext Ideas? 18 Dec 2002 (Forum)
At home/office I use BBC pages 441-446 and ITV 181-186. I have tried email on my mobile- too erratic. The BA system is designed for 9 year olds and is often unobtainable. The portable TVs on the market don't have teletext. The reason I need it that I operate an airport car service and it is very useful to see when a flight is estimated to arrive, or has landed. -
Tyre life 14 Dec 2002 (Forum)
Is this acceptable? The tyres are Dunlop Sp2000 if that makes any difference, and before anyone says so I am sure the car has not been clocked since they were fitted. The front tyres on my old ZX had nearly 20k under them when I got rid of it and still looked good for 5-10k more! -
Renault Auto Gearbox 5 Mar 2002 (Forum)
My question is, in this country, and as I never ever tow anything or go flat-out in the thing - does it really need this cooler. I know many cars dont even have one as standard so Im hoping that bypassing it will be a cheap fix to give the old thing some more life. Any expert opinions would be really appreciated! Thanks Tom -
super unleaded fuel 2 Mar 2002 (Forum)
My father runs a 1999 Saab 9-3 2.0i light pressure turbo which averages about 35mpg rising to 46-47mpg on long motorway runs. Does anyone know if there would be any benefits in running the car on super unleaded? If so can these justify the extra cost? Also is it worth trying this in my 1994 single point injection 1.3 Mini Cooper? I realise the engine is basically a 40 year old design with modern fuel injection and because of this I am reluctant to try it; however I would still be interested to know. -
Lifespan for a BX? 19 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Our 11 year old (91/H) BX 19 TGD estate is coming up to 114k miles and needs a major service, cambelt change etc. It's been maintained by the book since new and still does around 8k miles a year as a second car but with the capacity to fill in long distance as required. -
Vectra tail lights 25 Jan 2002 (Forum)
It happened on my 2 year old Vectra and investigation showed that the bulb hadn't blown, but had simply worked a bit loose from the contacts. I was just wondering if anyone else had noticed, or is it me? Cheers. Richard -
Peugeot 206 paper oil filter 16 Oct 2001 (Forum)
I am reluctant to force the element any further in case the plastic body is damaged in some way. This type of filter must be fairly new (the car is one year old), as it is not covered in the Haynes manual, which has just come out this year for the 206. Bob -
Strange French Custom 2 Jul 2001 (Forum)
Do any other nationalities do this? Incidentally, I lived in France for a while and the vast majority of drivers did this, young and old (and front seat passengers), so it's not based on the habits of one or two people. I've never seen a Brit do it. Can anyone enlighten me? -
Jerky Mondeo 25 Apr 2001 (Forum)
When I recently had my 1995 2 litre Mondeo serviced I mentioned the car was jerky when accelerating at the lower end of the revs in 3rd and 4th or generally hard in these gears.I felt the problem began to develop shortly after an elective cam belt change at 68k.The garage (not Ford) could find nout wrong but changed the plugs which were only a year old. -
Vauxhall Meriva A - Car written off then parked hire car hit and run! 7 May 2012 (Forum)
Ten minutes later I left the car there and went off in the car of my old driving instructor just to build up my confidence as I am now really worried every time someone is waiting at a junction and afraid they will just shoot out. -

Merc C200 24 Mar 2010 (Forum)
During our stay we were lent a Merc C200 Avangarde Kompressor (age unknown, mileage 140k) which was very kind of our hosts, only required to fill with petrol. Unused to such large posh cars I will give you my feelings regarding this car.....should you wish to know! Firstly I don't know were this motor fits in the Mercedes degrees of posh, posher or poshest scale of things, but I have noticed that other cars have C220 or other numbers on the boot and Elegance badges etc. -
Protection from rear impacts 13 Sep 2007 (Forum)
d crashed into the Audi. I have read that it?s recommended that baby seats are safest in the rear seat of a car, but it feels to me safer for a 2 year old toddler?s forward-facing seat to be strapped into the front passenger seat in a ?99 Micra in case anything runs into the back of the car. Bit of a dilemma really, if you?
