  • SEAT Cordoba (1994 - 2003) - 1998 1.6 Clutch pedal failure? 2 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Obvious Recovery options conflict with plans for the weekend away so can anybody give instant advice on the most likely mechanism of failure. I must give her lessons in driving with no clutch! I am prepared to drive it back here in the small hours around the M25 without the clutch if that becomes one of the recovery options that has minimum impact on her weekend away.
  • Audi A6 (2004 - 2009) - 2004 3.0tdi Electrical Gremlins 7 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Also I have noticed that my keyless opening of doors does not work when I come to the car first thing in the morning (but will work after 20 mins of driving), the same goes for the interior lights, won't work on entry to the car, but fine after 20 mins of driving. Is this the comfort module and damp/wet issue, if it is where is it located on my car?

  • Volkswagen Golf IV (1998 - 2004) - 02 1.9 130 TDi turbo loosing power 31 Aug 2008 (Forum)
My 52 plate golf Tdi 130Bhp keeps loosing power to the turbo when i am driving at constant speed around 70mph. No warning lights come on and as soon as i switch the ignition off and back on again its back to normal. I have had it in the garage and they said they replaced some sort of meter and tightened a hose but driving home from the garage it happened again.
  • Ford Fiesta (1989 - 1995) - 93 1.1 Transmission problem 17 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Its a Hydraulic clutch I think and I can hear it creak when I get her to press the clutch pedel. Do you think its the clutch that has broken? not letting the drive through to the gears or the gearbox itself? any advice appreciated. Simon
  • Citroen C5 (2001 - 2008) - 2002 2.2HDi anti pollution fault (inter alia) 10 Jul 2008 (Forum)
About a month ago a warning signal on the dash board of my 2002 2.2 Hdi auto estate C5 indicated "anti pollution fault" among others including ABS failure The car contined to drive satisfactorily and after a while the alarms ceased only to return at a later date with a loss of power, driving below 50mph was satisfactory. The car has been into the main Citroen garage in Leicester five time and faults such as loose connection, blown fuse, faulty pressure sensor have been diagnosed.
  • Fun car pre March 2001 4 Jul 2008 (Forum)
He had owned it from new for almost ten years, it ran like a dream, but he fancied a change (some change!!) He only drives 8k miles pa, so mpg is not a major issue. Sourcing an immaculate Mk2 Gti for everyday commuting is well nigh impossible, but what other fun cars can anyone suggest? Only criteria are hatch/estate (tip runs) minimum 35mpg in gentle driving and reliability.
  • Porsche left a speck in my rear veiw mirror! 4 May 2008 (Forum)
I was driving the other day and this 300 bhp Porsche was trying to get past me....I floored the throttle and left him a speck in my mirror. Best drive of my life at a track day in Oxfordshire. I was in a 400bhp Ferrari 360 and I have to say I was thoroughly chastised by swmbo for suggesting we sell the house to buy the Ferrari.
  • Golf Estate V Octavia Estate v Roomster Scout 30 Apr 2008 (Forum)
I have the Octavia at the moment ; so I would really like a change. So it's between the Golf and the Roomster. The Golf is very similar to drive as the Octavia, a slightly smaller boot, improved spec and better looking. Th Roomster is FUN to drive, slightly smaller boot again, similar spec to the Octavia but with marmite looks (you ether love or hate it) and I quite like it.
  • Honda Accord UK (1998 - 2003) - 00 1.8 Wheel bearing going - dangerous? 12 Apr 2008 (Forum)
My Honda Accord is making a roaring sound when driving (louder at higher speeds). I'm pretty sure that the wheel bearing (driver's side) is worn out, confirmed as "probable" by a driver from the local Honda garage who dropped the car back to me after servicing.
  • Mercedes Benz C-Class estate S204 - Privacy glass? 30 Mar 2008 (Forum)
As an off shoot for anyone considering the new C-Class, having run a BMW 320d for the past 2.5 years (80,000 miles), and also owning a 330d Touring, the mercedes is far superior in its driving (very comfy ride without runflats), even if the BMW has it beaten on seat comfort and interior quality. This was based on a 5 day, 700mile test drive.... -- Neil T E90 BMW 320d M Sport, E91 330d SE Touring
  • Most frustrating driver traits 27 Mar 2008 (Forum)
I refuse to have a hands free cos I want some me time in the car and as it's now illegal to use it I turn it off completely when driving - but when I see others using them it makes my blood boil - I know it should not bother me but I already put it up there with drink driving. Funny that because before it was illegal I used to do it.
  • Peugeot 207 (2006 - ) - 2006 1.4 16v S90 - Best way of selling? 26 Mar 2008 (Forum)
Since buying it I had to replace the side panel (someone drove into me) and am now having to deal with further repairs due to a 4 wheel drive vehicle driving into the 207 whilst parked. I imagine the car will look absolutely fine after a trip to a body shop. Anyway, I've since decided that I want rid of the vehicle.....Do you think I'll have trouble selling it?
  • Citroen C3 (2002 - 2009) - 2003 1.4 HDi - Lack of power 15 Mar 2008 (Forum)
Hi All I really hope you can help me with a problem with my 2003 C3 1400 HDI Diesel any suggestion would be gratefully appreciated: Symptoms: When driving often in motorways driving conditions there is a lack of power the speed will than drop down to 45/50 MPH with no response to the throttle, occasionally the engine warning light also comes on but this does not seem to have a direct connection to the problem.
