Peugeot Partner Combi - 62 mph limiter removal 15 Jul 2022 (Forum)
Has he missed something obvious? Is there any reason this would be a dealer only thing? It’s been suggested to remap the whole ecu but this is expensive, especially if it doesn’t work! -

Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - 99 2.0 HDi Not starting 5 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Nothing intermittant about this one, the dash board lights up as normal except for an extra yellow light with a key symbol and the display reading 'ignition fault' when cranking. I suspect the ecu is no longer programmed to the key (i have tried another key), there is power and data on the key reader on the ignition barrel and the ecu knows a key is in the ignition when the door is opened. Has anyone any suggestions that I could try before in gets dragged off to a main dealer for a plug in, (this would be a last resort!). -
ball bearing saves mans life 19 Dec 2009 (Forum)
i took this ecu apart earlier this year, its the ecu for the airbag on a fiat and i bought the car with the airbag light flashing, turns out someone had stolen the one out of my car and replaced it with a used one if you look at the photo attached you can see where the ball bearing is loaded and held with the spring until the the car hits something solid that makes the ball move forward and complete the circuit that sends the small electrical current to detonate the airbag not sure why it needs all the gizmoes on the board though http://tinyurl.com/y9trxzu -

rav 4 31 Oct 2004 (Forum)
i have a 2000 x new shape rav. the engine dash board warning light came on and i had it checked out by an independant garage. they read the ecu and the fault code said that i had a lambda sensor problem. i asked them to sort it and took the car back a few days later for a new sensor to be fitted. they did another ecu check and found 3 other fault codes. they advised me to take it to the dealer. -
Ford EDU idle the day away.... 1 Aug 2002 (Forum)

2010 vauxhall zafira 1.9 CDTi diesel - ZAFIRA LIMP-MODE OR THROTTLE-PEDAL ISSUE? 22 Sep 2023 (Forum)
I can usually fix the issue by switching the ignition off, lock the car, then unlock it and then it will start up and drive normally. But on one occasion only, I found an ECU error-code 112052 which relates to the throttle-pedal. There was also an ECU 38008 error-code which relates to the glow-plug. So is it possible that the fault lies with the throttle-pedal and is not an exhaust DPF / DGR issue at all? -
2002 Peugeot 307 1.6 Petrol - Injector not firing, voltage? 26 Aug 2013 (Forum)
I've read the code and it was a P0300, random misfire. I used HT testers to comfirm that the coil pack is working. I've had the ECU tested and confirmed okay by ECU Doctor. I've pulled the injectors and can see that the one nearest the belts (Numbered four by the French I think) does not fire. I've swapped that injector with another and the fault does not move. -
Volkswagen Passat (2005 - ) - '05 on Passat steering column faults 8 Aug 2013 (Forum)
We are seeing vast numbers of these with failure of the electronic steering lock/immobiliser on cars just out of warranty (those in warranty get taken to the dealer). They become difficult to start and finally the lock wont deactivate. The snag is that the ECU is built into the column and thief-proofed, so it means a new column with ECU and new convenience ECU!! We are talking about £1000 job here and we (i.e. independents) cant do it - we have to take the cars to the dealer. -
Peugeot 607 (2000 - ) - 00 2.2HDi Particulate filter live data readings? 14 Jul 2008 (Forum)
After a long saga with my 607 including communications problems with the ecu's and not being able to reset faults etc. I have finally bitten the bullet and bought a Diag2000. I have managed now to fix most problems and although the ecu can not be reset (pressumably a problem with the communications network on the main ecu) after three driving cycles the errors clear themselves once the issue is resolved I only have one error left which is particlate filter pierced or differential pressure incorrect. -
Rip off garages - "had to plug into a computer" 8 May 2008 (Forum)
The total cost including labour? £10 So why then I do keep hearing stories of garages charging £50-£100 for a simple ECU scan? Should the government be stopping this rip off practice? I realise £10 was very cheap, but he knows he gets a lot of business from me so he always knocks a bit off, I just can't see how garages can charge more than £30 for this work unless ECU fault codes are extremely complicated. -
Audi A6 flat battery error 13 Feb 2007 (Forum)
s and on a recent visit the battery was completely fault ( five years old ) I charged the battery and eventually it fired up with no errors but the battery would not hold it?s charge so popped into a local garage and had a new battery Exide 096 fitted. The Ecu came up ?OK? ( The Actual ECU diagnostic priority message ) with no reported faults but the Air con digital temp displays for NS/OS started flashing when turned on and continues for 4 mins. This problem does not appear to effect the A/C operation although it is too cold to check the freeze/compressor function. -
Corsa c - Corsa C won't start! Saying injection fault! 19 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Right put a new engine in my corsa c 2001 reg 1.0, when I've gone to start it its trying but not starting, I've not changed the ecu kept that from old engine, if I pour petrol into the carb (not sure that's correct wording) it starts then juders runs out of petrol, took it to the garage for diagnostics they say coming back with injector fault so took my old injectors out other engine and put them in still no joy, garage said could be ecu! -

Volkswagen Golf III (1992 - 1997) - Rough Gear Change after repairing soleniod Valve 27 Sep 2007 (Forum)
After the repair the car started changing gears, but is rough in changing from one gear to another,it practically jerks. My mechanic says that the short in the solenoid valve had also shorted the ECU and it now needs replacement. Any second opinions and if not,can my ECU be repaired? -
Micra Cold Starting 13 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Had to call the AA sometime ago due to the same problem, and was told that this was a known problem with Mk2 Micras. If you let the engine reach normal temperature i.e. ECU finishes it's cold cycle, the engine will restart fine every time. I have checked the ECU for fault codes, but none are shown. -
peugeot 307 1.6hdi 90bhp - a.b.s.,airbag & anti-pollution warning lights 5 Sep 2012 (Forum)
UO121-car communication. No communication with the esp ecu.PI351-preheating relay circuit stuck in open position.PO483-cooling intergrated into ecu open circuit or temp too high. Then took it to another garage, again no faults had been recorded, rec I take it to peugeot which I did only to be told it needed a new a.b.s. ecu which I obviously didn't believe as the faults were still there soon after a new ecu had been fitted.Started asking around and I seem to be getting the message that it is a faulty wheel sensor or a fault in one of these circuits.Any pointers woul be greatly appreciated and suggestions on how to check wheel sensors and circuits.I do know it has something to do with checking the resistance but exactly how I am not sure.Got the tackle to do it but need the knowledge. -
Vauxhall Astra G Petrol (1998 - 2004) - 2000 1.6 8v No spark after timing belt change! 30 May 2008 (Forum)
I understand that there are many components in the ignition system that could fail (sensors, wiring, ECU, etc..). and cause this fault. I discovered on the internet a way of reading the ECU fault codes by counting the blinking ECU light on the dash and I got three fault codes : 0230 (fuel pump), 0105 (inlet manifold pressure) & 0443 (unknown).
