  • Have I got a ticket for jumping the camera 12 Jun 2009 (Forum)
I also noticed that vehicle behind me did not move past the traffic light at that stage. This was in heart of Edinburgh, I am sure there must plenty of cameras out there. In the above situation, do you think I might have been captured on camera ? The worst bit it was so confusing and now I am so worried about the incident. Thanks
  • Dashcam as CCTV 16 Jan 2023 (Forum)
There is a bit of fly tripping near where I live. I need to place a camera in my car and point to the problem area.  I do have Yi Camera, which are great for indoor CCTV. I can't use it in the car, as it will not run off a USB power bank.  Just wondering if I can use a car dash cam (powered by a power bank?)
  • Review: Nextbase 312GW dash camera 24 Apr 2018 (Forum)
The reviews for the Nextbase 312GW dash cam look solid. Only disappointing thing by the looks of it was the internal battery life for photo mode - http://cardashcamreviews.com/nextbase-312gw-dash-cam-review/. Still...
  • None. - French police sabotage speed cameras. 22 Nov 2012 (Forum)

  • Speeding fine 30 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Could somebody tell me if I am correct in believing that if no camera signs are displayed and you are then caught on a mobile camera speeding, in my case 42 in a 30 limit, the photographic evidence cannot be used as it is in contravention of sections 7 and 55 of the data protection act, whereby a sign must be displayed if members of the public are likely to be photographed or recorded on video.
  • M6 J18 - 19 & M62 J8 2 Aug 2001 (Forum)
I have just heard on the radio that the roadworks on the M6 have now been completed. I expect that the cameras that were there, will now be moved to the M62 very soon, so be careful. Jonathan PS I also heard that some major police bod, is pushing for speed cameras to be brightly coloured and not hidden.

  • Tailgating and Speed Cameras 17 Dec 2001 (Forum)
Why since the police reconise that taigating is a bigger threat to safety by far than speed on its own, can't a system be devised that would simply read...
  • Suzuki GT380 - NPR cameras (on the Cat & Fiddle road) 16 Jul 2010 (Forum)
Apparently it's very important that we all have number-plate lettering the correct size, so that the NPR cameras can work properly.  I assured them I was glad to be able to keep Cheshire Road Policing's numberplate measuring teams in gainful employment, especially on a sunny Sunday when I'm sure even the most hardened criminals want to take time off, kick back and have a beer and a barbecue.
  • Rush hour chaos - People skipping lights/camera 21 Jun 2009 (Forum)
It is amazing how people can blatently skip lights when there is a red light camera installed on them, yet we have people on her getting worried because they went through on amber and there is a little box on the lights (e.g flow monitors). With the advice on people on here I now have a policy that green can only mean amber which means stop.
  • Who was driving Speed Cameras 3 Dec 2001 (Forum)
Clearly the police and government know that this goes on and perhaps other similar ?scam?s, but they do nothing about it. Does this not prove that speed cameras are used mainly for generating revenue and have little to do with road safety? Tom
  • Speed cameras 31 Jan 2001 (Forum)
Having just received my first ticket of the year here in Germany(5km over the limit ) it made me wonder about Gasco cameras in the UK.In mainland Europe speed cameras take the front of the vehicle which includes a excellent quality picture of the driver. If the driver is not the owner then you must divulge the driver name if you do not want to pay the fine (there are no points for small over the limit offences).

  • Honda CR-V - HOnda (UK) parts prices - reversing camera 23 May 2025 (Forum)
So my 18 plate CR-V exec 1.5 turbo needs a new reversing camera - well that's ok surely it cant cost much ... Generic ones are about £65 but not one there for my year so went to dealer (Vertu Honda Grantham) Thank you sir that would be £1611.22 I suspect Honda (UK) are possibly inflating parts prices for newer cars as they have a monopoly with OEM parts.......
  • All - A12 - look out...Greed Cameras about. 5 Feb 2015 (Forum)
Just to let you know that from 9th Feb they will be installing Average Speed Camera's on the A12. I believe it's the Witham bypass section. They are already fitting them between Colchester and Ipswich and I believe some are installed the other end near M25/Brentwood. Frankly my experience of the ASC on the A127 means I find this prospect simply terrifying.
  • FIAT Grande Punto - punto ?electrical problem with speed camera? 1 Feb 2012 (Forum)
Both events happened where roadworks have been in place for 1 month and there are yellow overhead 'average' speed cameras. Is it interference of some sort? is it just coincidence? does anyone know what the cause is? the garage suggest it is an electrical problem but tell me they can't identify the problem. any advice much appreciated.
  • Speed warnings don't work, says TRRL 8 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I hope, though, that these devices are not scrapped, because they would still serve a useful purpose if combined with a camera. Someone still speeding after passing one of these warning signs would have no excuse when caught on camera.
  • Illegal speed camera trap? 31 Jan 2007 (Forum)
I regularly commute to work along the A14 from Bury St Edmunds towards Cambridge. Over the past 12 months I 've noticed quite frequently a Suffolk mobile camera van. It's parked on the grass verge inches from the nearside lane on the Eastbound carriageway just before the Rowley Mile service station (that's about 1 mile before the junction with the A142).
