all - More politicians trying to get older drivers off t 5 Sep 2017 (Forum)
Harriet Harmann is suggesting all drivers over 75 should have to visit a doctor to ascertain their ability to drive. I know lots of drivers well over that age who are perfectly good, fit as fiddles with keen minds and good reactions. My profession needs some of the quickest reactions of any needing to observe multiple things at the same time. -

I do not like a big car but want something which gives adequate protection if needed. My priorities are safety, comfort, reliability, driving quality and ease of access (also like higher driving position) Electronic handbrake not wanted. Prefer spare wheel but not dealbreaker. Looking for petrol with budget up to say £9000. -
Any - lane 1 ... now you see it, now you don't 20 Sep 2016 (Forum)
So what's this about? Well as many motorists will know, some drivers have the habit of driving in lanes 2, 3 or 4 whilst leaving lane 1 empty. But, what about the roads where lane one keeps coming and going? For instance, join the A406 from the A13, travel northbound past Barking, Ilford, Redbridge, Woodford, Chingford and so forth around London, lane 1 keeps dissapearing and reappearing at the junctions - if you are a slow driving through motorist you have the choice of constant lane switching or sticking to lane 2, and of course leaving lane 1 empty between junctions. -

I keep eyeing up mid-90's 4.2TD Landcruisers 20 Sep 2015 (Forum)
So many questions. What are they like to drive? Both the size of the thing, and ride quality? (Although the Berlingo can 'nip' through small spaces, with every OTHER vehicle getting bigger, the size of the vehicle I'm driving soon won't make much difference.) -
BMW 5 Series - Avoiding new driver licence revoked 14 Sep 2015 (Forum)
Hi All, My son is 18 and only recently passed his driving test and he has now received a fixed penalty notice for 6 points for driving without insurance. Is it right that if he accepts this he will have his licence revoked because he is a new driver and have to do his test again? -
Ford Mondeo Estate tdci 130 - Slight rocking motion, 3 Jun 2015 (Forum)
Hi I have a concern regarding my Mondeo. I was driving on cruise control 75 mph 6th gear, just over 2000rpm. I felt a slight rocking motion. I turned the CC off as I thought maybe it was playing up. This did not stop the problem. I have since tested the car and it seams there is an issue when the car is over 2000rpm. -
Thinking of getting a Qashqai - comments ? 8 Apr 2015 (Forum)
Over the past 5 years it's been a great car but I fancy a change. I was tempted by the Civic Tourer SR (diesel) - like the looks, drives ok, frugal, but it just felt a little cramped inside passenger wise. Just been to look at a Qashaqi (1.5 DCI) . Like the driving position, lively pick up when moving though the gears, frugal and feels roomy inside (could be that panoramic roof I suppose). -
Daihatsu Midget II - Engine troubles 3 Apr 2015 (Forum)
I do have a quirky vehicle though so hopefully that'll make up for it. My little Daihatsu Midget II has a strange problem. I can drive it around for hours and it's fine but if I drive it even for a short time then don't use it for a few hours, when I go back to use it again the engine cuts out repeatedly. Generally it'll cut out between 2 and 6 times in around an hours duration, then be OK again... -

Vauxhall Corsa - Different size tyres 12 Mar 2015 (Forum)
Would having the wrong size tyre on my car cause any damage to my car? If they refuse to change it free of charge is it such a big deal that I continue to drive it with the different size tyres? Thanks -
pulled out in front of me, now im being prosecuted 2 Mar 2015 (Forum)
a couple of months later i have been given the option of going on a motoring course or being prosecuted with Driving without due care and attention or: driving without resonable consideration for other road users. i do not know why the charge is being brought against me, is it possible that my tyres/brakes were below the legal limit and could this be classed as the above offences rather than drivng with defunct tyres and /or brakes. -
Fiesta 1.4 tdci- Revs fluctuating when cruise control on 18 Aug 2014 (Forum)
I have had this issue for a while now and last week took the car to the dealer who connected it through diagnostics who did a software update. In addition, no error codes or anything else were registered. Technicials took it for a drive and recorded no problems Took the car for its first long drive yesterday and the revs start to fluctuate ever so slightly once in a while. I also noticed a pattern where it always occurs when going down an incline. -
