  • to turbo or not to turbo 28 Feb 2005 (Forum)
I read (in the motoring section of one of the Sunday papers) that the Citroen/Peugeot 2.0HDi has a turbo. If this is the case, 1) why don't you get the audible 'whistle' that the VW/Audi TDi gives on acceleration? and, 2) does that mean they're not such a good buy 2nd hand (with all the warnings about older smoking turbos?
  • 206 bypassing auto unlock 18 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Does anyone know how to bypass the auto unlock on the central locking system on a Peugeot 206. It intermittently keeps unlocking when trying to lock the car even when all the doors are shut. I see this used to be an issue on 306's and you could bypass the unlock by shorting 2 wires on the conrol unit together.
  • Wax injection of cavities 2 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Due to the weather the Peugeot 205 cabriolet has just been taken off the road for the winter - I feel I ought to try and rustproof it with waxoyl or similar. Does anyone know where I can buy blanking caps, and is there a source of information for where to drill holes to get the wax into the right cavities?
  • Where are new cars built? 18 Aug 2004 (Forum)
I thought it would be nice to know where all cars in the past and present were built, and what engines (if not their own) they use(d) with specific dates. For example, the Toyota Yaris is being built in france. Or that the Avensis diesel uses a peugeot engine and is built in france (I think).
  • Pearlescent paint 31 May 2004 (Forum)
A friend of mine is looking to buy a new car (Peugeot)and fancies pearlescent paint. A relative has told him that pearlescent paint has a worse finish level than ordinary/metallic paint and is more prone to scratches. This is a new one on me, I though the only difference between pearlescent and other paint jobs is that for pearlescent the lacquer is a different colour to the paint to give the effect.
  • Pug 405 Heated seats 5 May 2004 (Forum)

  • Air Con and Demisting 5 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Concerned I hadn't set it right I've just read the manual and it says 'the A/C system operates only when the outside temperature is over approx +4C' Anyone know why? I found the air con on our Peugeot very useful for demisting on frosty days!

  • Rust problem on 306 4 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Is it possible to replace or repair the following rusty bit of metal on my 10-year-old Peugeot 306... The bonnet lock's striker bar is fixed (or screwed) to a piece of metal which appears to be completely enclosed by the bonnet's metalwork. This piece of metal is rusting away with the obvious danger that the bonnet lock will give way one day.

  • Citroen Xsara 2.0HDi Clutch Bearing 27 May 2003 (Forum)
Has anybody experience of this failure or is the reported problem just on the very early examples of this engine/clutch combination on Citroen and Peugeot cars ?
  • Damsel in Distress 3 May 2002 (Forum)
OK, I know this is going to sound a typically female question but here we go!! A red warning light has come on in my Peugeot 405 and I have no idea what it is. I don't have the handbook so can't look it up. It is not the oil light and is over the other side on the right. It is 2 horizantal wobbly lines with what looks like a cap on top (as in a screw cap not a sports cap!!)
  • Delocking GTI-6 21 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Idly looking through autotrader magazine last week trying to imagine what it would be like to buy from the Sports section rather than the Estates/People carrier section. Noticed that all the Peugeot 306 GTI-6's were advertised as being "delocked". What exactly does this mean? This is for purely academic interest, as a 3-door hot hatch doesn't have the boot space for 2 travel cots.
  • plastic trim hole fillers 14 Nov 2001 (Forum)
Where can I get some dark blue (Mondeo) and some light grey (Peugeot) mushroom-type push in plugs to conceal the holes in the dash, drilled by numbties mounting their mobile phones? I have seen them in Halfords in other colours than black; unfortunately Halfords stock control on these useful odd packs leaves alot to be desired (certainly applies in Aberdeen!).
  • Synergie/806/Ulysse. 20 Oct 2001 (Forum)
I'm guiding them to a Synergie because of the Citroen connection but what about the "clones"? Are the Peugeot 806 and Fiat Ulysee exactly the same for image and reliability? I have some ideas on this but would be interested to hear views from owners and car park image watchers! David
  • Cheap tyres. 6 Aug 2001 (Forum)
Look after a Peugeot 306 TD. Always enjoy the drive in it due to sharp handling and good grip. Picked it up today and noticed the previous Goodyears were replaced by Camac tyres. The handling and grip are terrible now, turn-in is sluggish and they feel like driving on mud.

  • Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 97 1.9D Hard to start, then almost total fail to s 5 Aug 2008 (Forum)
Anyone got some pointers as to how we can diagnose the problems, please give me check list that I can pass on. If we check it in a local Peugeot dealer what things should we tell the service-manager? My worry is next wekend they are parking it for a few days on a mountain above th snow line while they go skiing (Yes we do have snow in Australia) and if its parked ona slope of the mountain it might be difficult to extract.
  • 306 wiper fault, help. 14 May 2006 (Forum)
I have since remove the dash and this loom/relay is not there. According to my wiring diagrams, the Haynes manual, other R REG 306'S, and Peugeot Techs this car should definately have a timmer relay. Its the 30 facia fuse board and its a 98 model with AC. No rain sensors. Does anyone know if this vehicle should have a timmer relay? I know that some early models with the 13 facia fuce board did not have 1.
