  • labouring new diesel engines? 16 Jan 2007 (Forum)
But there's nothing in the user manual that says this is bad, it only tells you not to rev the thing too high for environmental reasons. Any thoughts? i'm a petrol or LPG man myself...
  • Volvo V40 Bifuel 12 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Has anyone got any experience or comments about the V40 LPG model? I have seen a couple advertised at our local superstore, 53 reg with delivery mileage for £14k. At this price they seem to be a good replacement for my 2000W, 75k Vectra SRi 140 Dualfuel. This has given me pretty reliable service over the last 3 years but it might be time to move on.

  • Volkswagen Golf III (1992 - 1997) - (92-97) SPi 1.8 ADZ headache 19 Jan 2016 (Forum)
In VAG.COM measuring blocks, all the variables are all in green text, the ECU thinks they're all OK. There are no fault codes logged. The LPG ECU also gives no faults. So, what's up? I'm lost. Any ideas welcome...
  • Land Rover Discovery II - Repair Problems 7 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Motor was returned end of October in time for our holiday we did 1100 miles or so during the holiday no problem and the car was returned to the garage for first service and the LPG setting up (engine supplier had advised not to use LPG for the first 1000 miles). It run fine for another 200 miles and then started running rough and mpg dropped by nearly half. From the middle of November till the end of January the car went back and forth to garage trying to solve the problem, which at that point they decided was the ECU, this was sent off for repair.

  • Another VW Passat misfire 20 Sep 2005 (Forum)
This is an interesting tidbid as my car started backfiring before it started misfiring. Also, my multipoint fuel injected car runs on LPG using a single point LPG injection system (Leonardo). I mention this in case it may increase the chance of carbon build up? Anyway, the backfires only ever happened on 3 occasions. > 6th Aug after 60 mile motorway journey.
  • Renault Megane Scenic 98 model 27 Feb 2005 (Forum)
Can anyone assist. I have a Megane Scenic 1.6RT with an LPG Conversion on it. Yesterday there was a bang from under the bonnet (which may have been from the LPG) the car lost power when going uphill. when listening to the engine there was a knocking noise. the breakdown service removed the plugs and found that no 1 plug had metal between the electrode this was removed and regapped bit the noise was still there (The car was recovered to a Renault Dealers (Bad Move) and they advised it would be £43 for an inspection to investigate the fault.
  • troubles starting - skoda octavia 1.4 9 Jan 2005 (Forum)
    another thing: there's a light "check motor electronics" on the dashboard lighting, but the garagist says that I don't have to care much about this because I'm driving on LPG... (the LPG installation works very good, so that is not the problem because starting the engine is on fuel) {car make added to subject header.}
  • 2500 miles per month. £2500. Diesel? Petrol? LPG? 1 Jan 2017 (Forum)
Finally I would like to have an opinion on the current state of affairs about LPG. Most references I find online are outdated by 6 years or more and the prices for certified installs is in the £700 region now. As I orginally stated I am inclined to find a Subaru in the 100k region and have an LPG kit installed on it.
  • Ford Transit - new London emission laws 3 Jan 2012 (Forum)
Just add an E.G.R. system? If you had an older petrol powered car/van would converting it to LPG be acceptable. I am not a Londoner, just curious about the effects of this new legislation.
  • 40 Years in the future............................ 15 Dec 2009 (Forum)
What will be using 40 years in the future will petrol still exist? Will diesel exist? is there enough oil to last till then? Is Lpg the way forward? Electric cars with the range of a large diesel with charging cappacity like that of a alternator? I don't think we will advanced to flying around in space ships or living on pluto by then not a massive leap has happened upto now from 40 years back!
  • Toyota Camry (2002 - 2006) - 02 2.4 Oil coolers 25 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Hi I have a toyota camry that runs on LPG. I understand that it runs hotter than usual. Would an oil cooler make any difference? Can you recommend any websites that let me know how I can buy one with advice on these devices. I understand that they are more suited to cars that tow as the gear box oil gets hotter in these cases!

  • Toyota Hilux Surf SSR-X 3 Aug 2004 (Forum)
Dear All, I am considering purchasing the 3.0l 1994 version of this vehicle. The motor is diesel and I am wondering about conversion to LPG (preferably to run alongside), is this feasible or do I need a petrol engine - I\'m guessing I do. Also, does anyone have any knowledge of JICC ( http://www.jicconline.co.uk ) - they seem reputable but I\'d be grateful of any first hand information anyone has.

  • In an estate over high fuel costs 30 Jun 2001 (Forum)
Should I keep it and continue paying high prices for petrol and possibly have to buy a pair of new catalytic converters. Convert it to LPG. Sell it and buy a slower diesel 80. Buy an A4 TDi 110 bhp with 100k on the clock for about £10k. or get a nearly new Vectra diesel from a car supermarket? Can I remove the catalytic converts and will I get more mpg?
