  Hi all, It's time..I've got to trade up to an estate. I've done some research and it's looking like a Audi A4 vs the Volvo V40. I've got about £4K and like them both; my main concern on the Audi is the safty rating, and on the volvo -well it being a volvo really. I've got to get a Labrador and a load of buggy/kids stuff in the boot; and I go 500 mile trips pretty much every other weekend.

  No common rail, yet still manages 110hp and 50mpg thanks to an intercooler and variable vane turbo. The engine bay is covered in Audi logos, and the dashboard is straight clone of an Audi one too. Very impressed with it. That's all. You will now be returned to your usual programming.

  Ideally would have aircon, and a big enough boot for a weeks camping equipment. Ideas so far include: Citroen Xsara 1.8 (S plate) Audi A4 (120k plus miles N or P plate) Peugeot 306 Which would people say makes the best buy? Any other ideas? SWMBO is tempted by the audi, but do they make good high mileage buys? Thanks people.........

  Fuel pump packed in (lots of noise, loss of pressure/delivery) then ominously quiet as the car coasted to the hard shoulder... Main dealer replaced fuel...

  Please can anyone give a good rough estimate of how often the air conditioner/climate system needs to be recharged? The car in question is a 1998 Audi A6. Think it was last done at a service in 2001 before I had it. Just interested to know as we're taking it to south of france next week and don't want to be left boiling. Also note that Audi no longer check the system as part of routine servicing.

  Can anybody help me please? I own a 16 year old Audi 80 1.8 GL which after 130,000 miles is still going strong but has started to 'smoke' from the exhaust on acceleration. The mechanic who serviced my car recently said that this is common on old VW/Audi engines and is due to the rubber valve guide seals going hard.

  Hi, I bought an Audi A4 2008 TFSI petrol last summer and started having problems with it. Went to a garage nearby in SW London and the mechanic told me that it has a broken valve inside the engine and the repair will easily cost over £1000 because it's a big job.

  Hi First post on here. First post anywhere. I bought a secondhand Audi TT 3.2 V6 from a dealer 8 days ago. I noticed I had a flat tyre yesterday and took the car into Kwikfit. They told me the tyres on the car were not good enough for the power of the car and the one they took off was torn on the sidewall.

  Hi I have an Audi A4 1996 1.8 petrol and it to seems to have a prob. It had a fault when I got it of starting and then stopping straight away, but then all of a sudden it would go. I tried to trace it but being an intermittent fault made it impossible at the time.

  My 2000 A6 Quattro is doing its annual Chitty Chitty Bang Bang number with the central locking and the electric windows. Whenever the weather turns especially wet and cold it does this, a fault attributable to Audi's notorious (in)convenience module, I gather. It's only ever done 35k miles too. It's time to change and I have identified several possible replacement E class cars. I've never had a Merc and I feel I should try one before I depart this earth.

  I have a 1999 Audi A6 2.5 TDi V6 that won't start - can anyone give me a pointer in the right direction......? The car has been left standing for 6 months. I went to it last weekend & the battery was completely flat, nothing in it whatsoever.

  Looking to get at least 3 years out of my next car; need reliability, be as big or bigger than Cavalier Hatch, 2 adults two children and good mpg 40+, not too bothered about looks status, must be comfy and not too pricey on spares; opinions please, Merc C220 Diesel, FIL has one with no problems at 220k other than diesel pump, 55mpg, not too sure about standard seats, anyone know what the leather ones are like compared to standard? Audi 80, don?t know too much about them but I admit I do like the look of them over the other two, assumed reliablilty etc, not sure to go with the diesel. Avensis, reliabilty and I was thinking the lean burn engine, what year do these finish and the VVTi?
