KIA cee'd - Kia CEE`D 1.6 CRDI 113 turbo failure 27 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Car is now at a Kia dealership and probably wont be looked at until Monday. Car has only 59000 miles, full service history and is 4 years old so still under warranty. Anyone else has this problem with a Kia CEE`D or Hyundai i30? -
Volvo V40 - "Super bright" halogen headlights 8 Jan 2013 (Forum)
The wife has has been complaining the ours barely appear to be on at all in comparison to a lot of cars these days. I agree with her. Ours are like an old torch with weak batteries in comparison with other cars. Can't see much at all on unlit roads without using the main beams. (The car passed its MOT last month and and the weight vs headlight height switch is set correctly) However I too get irritated by oncoming cars that seem to have ridiculously bright lights, so my question is, am I about to join the annoying people if I buy some?... -

Peugeot 106 1.5L Diesel (1995) - Which Car Battery 19 Sep 2011 (Forum)
I have no idea what these codes mean, but obviously don't want to spend money on a battery that won't fit/work in my car! To confuse things I had a look at my current battery and it just says it is an s50 with 390mha and 65ma (or something like that - i forget the units) I just want a cheap battery which will allow my car to start in the Winter - my current doesn't (but then again it is at least 7 years old)! -

Yet again I find myself with another VAG car (this time a Skoda Fabia) which although I was initially enthralled with and highly complimentary to, after 100,000 miles (7 short years) the same old story.... Suspension components, bushes, track rods, bearings, rear shocks etc etc more or less shot and costing me a fortune to fix. -
Mercedes B Class - Europcar ex hire cars 18 Aug 2010 (Forum)
I was lead to believe that the car was probably bought in from Mercedes Head Office on their closed auction system. The V5 arrived today and it showed Europcar as the first owner!! It was never mentioned that the car was ex rental. -

Toyota Yaris (1999 - 2005) - 04 1.0 PAS- very light and won't self-centre 27 May 2009 (Forum)
Its also very light when on the motorway, which means I find myself constantly making tiny steering adjustments when travelling straight. I think this car has electric power steering, and not having driven a car with it on before I?m not sure if the above is a problem or a characteristic. Can anyone help? (Car was bought 3 months old from a main dealer and is regularly serviced at a main dealer.) -

Audi approved 9 Mar 2007 (Forum)
Who can you really trust? I was put off by independant car dealers who quite often are pushy, and overprice their high mileage "quality" used cars. So I thought I'd go to a main dealer and pay a premium for what I thought would be better cars. How wrong was I? -
Car insurance - £137 saved! 19 Aug 2005 (Forum)
My car insurance renewal came through recently, with elephant.co.uk, at £360. This is for a 10 year old Mercedes W124 E class diesel, fully comp with a boringly normal driver. Up a little on last year, partly beacuse I changed my car. -
Used car inspection and dealer liability 6 Jan 2005 (Forum)
Someone I know is looking at getting a fairly old (but quite high-value) used car from a dealer. He is thinking about getting an RAC inspection, but posed an interesting query. If he buys a used car and something major goes wrong (e.g. autobox failure) within the first month or two then I think that under the Sales of Goods Act (or whatever its called nowadays) he can go back to the dealer and claim a repair on the basis that it must have been defective at the time of sale. -

Morris Minor Traveller - advice please 6 Sep 2003 (Forum)
Some rust on rear door hinges, and signs of touching up below windows. 1. Any ideas re value? (I won't say initially waht it's up at) 2. How realistic is it to run such a car these days, even over fairly low mileages? 3. What should he look out for on this 33 year-old car? 4. Any advice re inspections? Many thanks Pat -
Help needed with choosing new car please 31 Dec 2002 (Forum)
Hi I'm new to this site. We are thinking about getting a new (to us!) car. We have two boys who are both in car seats and are planning to try for another one soon. We also have a long legged greyhound. We travel to my parents for the weekend fairly often. So...we need a car with three full sized rear seats and space for luggage/pushchair and the dog. -
Importing a car from South Africa 1 Mar 2002 (Forum)

The car is low mileage but 1.5 years old and due to it's value etc he has decided he definitely wants to keep it - he's already thought the selling it there and buying new here side through so no advice on selling it please. -
What Women Want 31 Oct 2001 (Forum)
s scary?. Status cars were also rejected as ?vain and arrogant?. It seems these women liked men with very ordinary cars, provided that (and they applied the same criteria to mens clothes) they were not to be too old, nice colours, scrupulously clean inside and out, and looked well cared for. -

Buying Ex-Hire-Cars? 15 Nov 2000 (Forum)
A local Ford dealer is offering ex-hire-cars, imported from Jersey. They are around 6 months old, showing 2-3 thousand miles. The prices seem to be good - one W-reg Fiesta (a 1.25 Zetec) looked as new, and was on for just over £7,000 We're considering buying one to keep for several years, but how worried we should be...
