  I have recentlybought a second hand scenic with the 2.0 petrol engine.In between obtaining a Haynes manual and recieving the registration document the cambelt did something bad!I had not long contacted the Renault dealerships to find that the belt was last changed at 89,000,and that it would not need a further change until it reached 161,000.But alas although I was going to change it earlier,it was too late.On investigation,after removing the cambelt covers I found a small piece of the auxiliary belt (which had shredded its outer edge) inside.This led to the crankshaft sprocket slipping somehow 120 deg.I was amazed to find the sprocket does not have a woodruff key inserted,which on all the previous cars I've owned seem to have.Apparently,according to the garage that will be carrying out the repair its becoming more the norm to not fit keys in the keyways.I'm worried it could happen again some time.Is there anyone out there who would suggest fitting a keyway.......

  Hello everyone, I have Renault Laguna 1.9 DCI 2005 and It’s been a very long time since i started fixing it, and I’m desperate now i need your help! The car had no power whatsoever I checked the EGR, changed it and i still had the same problem, i took put the egr and the turbo sound was very loud.

  Brought a brand new traffic van in July covered just over 5000 miles so far and is now back at the dealership for the fourth fault, previous faults have all been electronic related but latest fault is leaking master cylinder, I have two questions    I'm self employed and every time I take my van into or collect it from the dealer I am losing half a days money (self employed) do I have any way of getting some form of compensation? 2nd question relates to the master cylinder failure, I reported it to renault straight away and they sent the rac to inspect it who confirmed the fault was the master cylinder but as the vehicle was drivable they wouldn't recover it even though j advised them it was burning badly on drive, it then stunk and smoked the whole way to the dealership, (good 70 miles drive) but there now saying if 5 here's no sign of slippage once the master cylinder is replaced then the clutch will not be changed, this will effect the life of the clutch though so how can they do this??

  We know nothing about cars and have very little available money.... just to set the scene... :-) We have been offered a Renault Laguna Dynamique, 1.9 Diesel from 2005. There is a little confusion about mileage because of a new clock, but somewhere in the region of 70.000. It comes from a trade contact of a friend who owns a garage and we can have it for £2000.

  Any ideas on this one please. Renault Espace 2.2 DTi The Race, 2002 (02 reg). On the motorway the other day, noticed a bit of smoke, thought due to lack of use over the last few weeks it may just need a blast. got upto 70mph, tried to overtake and accelerated to 80, it all went wrong from there.

  I have a Renault Espace 1999 2.2dT. Last week the expansion bottle cap blew out and the water was boiling out of the bottle. After several attempts and 'hoping' it was 'air in the system' I have realised that it is a head gasket job, at least.
