  Just a word of caution to owners of older BMWs. Last year my 1992, 320i, 60,000miles had a fuel leak from the short fuel hose between the metal supply pipe and injector rail, the hose had become rock hard. The only satisfactory cure was a special replacement kit from BMW.

  I have a 1997 BMW 5 series i Touring 2 litre petrol manual. It's been serviced by BMW since new. Now has 120,000 miles. Suddenly its reluctant to start from warm. Starts fine first thing in the morning, but 1 - 5 hours later it needs a lot of cranking, and a lot of throttle.

  I need to find a specialist to tighten/repair the automatic convertible roof of my beloved BMW 318i. The roof jams/gets stuck when it's folding back. It appears the tensioners need tightening. Anyone have recommendations for a specialist in London? I've gone to BMW, but they're quoting £300 for the repair kit but this is mostly labour...but they won't guarantee it'll solve the problem.

  Very smooth and very impressive. However, price (20k) is in the small exec bracket and depreciation is likely to be faster than BMW/Audi. Plan to test drive the A4 1.9TDi soon as well as the BMW 320dES. What do others think of these cars?

  I've just read a report that BMW are to offer a new electronic package just for the UK;it disables indicators,the brakes,turns on main beam and foglights as soon as you start the the car and has automatic radar control allowing the vehicle to remain 1mm. behind your back bumper.
