Ford Fiesta Mk 4 - Rattle behind dashboard 26 May 2012 (Forum)
Hi My recently acquired S reg Fiesta 1.25 has an annoying rattle behind the dash on the near/passenger side. I thought it was the hard plastics around the bulk head under the bonnet causing it which I cushioned with some foam but it isn't?? -

I've never experienced this at any other garage and wondeed if this is a new thing that is beginning to come into being due to the obsession with H&S. Have any fires ever happen due to lights being left on and what are the chances of that happening.? Should Mythbusters be informed? :) -

Audi A3 - Lost MW on stereo 28 Nov 2011 (Forum)
Evening all Medium wave on my A3's stereo has disappeared. It began a few days ago with one or other of 693 or 909 vanishing and now I can't pick up anything. FM is still fine and I need to check LW. I presume it's not aerial related as the roof mounted aerial is as it should be and I can still get FM. -

Average Speed Cameras 7 Nov 2011 (Forum)
Another worrying development is the habit of HGV;s to travel in the middle lane of these road works, often undertaking traffic in the third lane. They are effectively blocking in other traffic with nowhere to go if in trouble; this is not just to overtake -

Recommendation needed, budget £1,000 22 Apr 2011 (Forum)
A medium size car, for going on distance trips with passengers in the front and back. But not huge, because I like to be able to actually park it sometimes. I am a man in my 20's and it should not have a "grandma" style to it. So far I was thinking about a Toyota (avenis) or a Vauxhall (Astra?)... anything really as long as it's a good car. I don't mind if it's 10 years old. -

Volkswagen Passat - 1.8 non-turbo engine 25 Jan 2011 (Forum)
So, if that 1.8 petrol engine is still around, I would consider keeping an eye out for a good used Passat, three to four years old. Has anyone any advice to offer on that petrol engine and, indeed, any other aspects of a s/h Passat? -

Nissan Micra 04 1.4 - 'Drumming noise' 20 Nov 2010 (Forum)
Car went for annual service at the independent garage that we've used for many years. It needed a new n/s/r tyre and they could not source a matching Conti one, so fitted a Firestone instead. Straight away it was making a 'drumming noise' mainly in the 30 - 55 mph range. We assumed it was a problem with the tyre and it has now been swapped for a matching Conti tyre, but we still have the noise. -

Halfords stainless steel hose clips 26 May 2010 (Forum)
I noticed they were selling SS hose clips the other day. Narrower and seemingly of thinner metal though, than the galvanized type. It`s a while since I saw actual Jubilee brand clips - it might have been in the tool shop in Meadowhall shopping centre. Will need one in a few years for the bottom hose on the Panda.... (think I will go for a Jubilee brand) Are you always looking at parts like this? -

Car choices with boot space in? 18 Feb 2010 (Forum)
We never use the 2 back seat so even with them permanently folded we need more space! We're looking at larger estates and 4x4's. With a budget of around £15k we are struggling to find the best option. Top of the list so far is the Pathfinder, a fully specced Aventura, 56/07 plate, manual, diesel. This is based on size and reasonable running costs and not too big a list of common faults.
