BMW E39 2002 5 30 i Sport Auto - Replacement Tyres - birdieman

Anyone know what tyres would be good to replace the current Bridgestone SO2 EZ and te best place to get them either fitted or mail order forme to fit?

The fronts are 235 40 18 91y the rears are 265 35 18 93Y I need 4 tyres 2 of each

There are so2 s around but one tyre dealer has told me these would be 5 yrs old and he would avoid buying or fitting them...is this correct?

The date of manufature is stamped on the tyre easy to check.

Surely dealers shouldn't be selling tyres over 2 years old, never mind 5.

There is a tyre industry recommendation to replace tyres within 7 years of manufacture date.

Anyone got an idea on replacement tyres for this model which wouldn' upset the handling or stability control system? Currently on Bridgestone SO2 directional EZ Front 235 40 18 9y rear 265 35 18 93y these seem difficultto get at reasonable money?

I am currently considering either Dunlop Sport Michelin Pilot Sport 3 GRNX997y and Hankoook Ventus V12 EVO K110 pattern?
