Driving without MOT 22 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Can you settle a pub argument. iirc In the good old days, driving without an MOT was a fairly irrelevant offence. Fine only. Now it seems to invalidate your insurance and they might do you for that instead? True, or false? -

Anyone know any places in the South west where I can teach my kids some experience on driving. I've heard that you can use abandoned airefields etc but I don't know any in this area. -
All cars - Elderly Drivers 26 Feb 2025 (Forum)
I am outraged at the suggestion that older drivers retake their tests. They are without a doubt the safest and most law abiding sector of the driving community. The real problems are the drivers under 25 who drive as if all the demons of hell are chasing them, have little or no respect for other road users and mainly drive Audis or older BMWs. -
2016 Suzuki Vitara - Test Drive 19 Apr 2024 (Forum)
Shame, as it had a likeable character and felt more solid than I was expecting, but I don't want to have to drive like someone in a black and white film. -
N/A - Driving Tests 2 Jun 2022 (Forum)
It is reported again today about the long wait for driving tests in some areas bookings into next year. HGV tests are much the same In both cases are lot of people are being prevented from travelling to work or earning a living driving. How easy would it be to train MORE ministry testers to ease the problem. -

Hi, I was banned from driving in 2007 for 3 years and my ban is due to expire nect month. I contacted the DVLA today to inquire about applying for my provisional again as the court ordered my to retake my driving test. The DVLA informed me that the y have absolutely no record of me having a driving ban and as far as they are concerned, I have a full, clean driving licence. -
So who WAS driving 14 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I thought the same of the bloke who claimed exactly the same thing some weeks ago. People will remember him 'cos he could drive his BMW more safely at warp factor 3 than I can drive at 30mph. He said it was all true What happened, mate? And what happened to the bloke who was going to court because neither he nor his wife could remember who was driving when they were flashed in her father's car and were both too principled to take the hit? -
Driving without a great deal of thought 12 Jun 2008 (Forum)
The land on both sides is completely open, and it's obvious there's no road to the right, but most drivers (when visiting and leaving the health centre) still slavishly drive around the mini-roundabout instead of driving straight over it. If they don't think about that, what else don't they think about? -
Renault Scenic (1999 - 2003) - 01 1.9dci loss of drive 12 Apr 2008 (Forum)
SWMBO drove off, changed from 1st to 2nd and lost all drive. Engine runs, clutch feels fine and gears engage, but no drive in any gear when clutch released. No discernible noises. Clutch was replaced 8 months ago and all has seemed well up until now. My thoughts (hopes) are that a CV joint failure, or drive shaft failure is more likely than a clutch or gearbox problem.
